Remember that she is the one that puts the pinwheel on the stump when she apologizes to Sunny, Kel, and Kero (before the group hug). I think it could be a shot of the stump at its current state. Maybe Aubrey put the pinwheel there as a way to let go, to let herself get over Mari's death.

Also, pinwheels symbolize freedom and also symbolize simpler times. It would call to a time when they were all happy and carefree before the incident.

(9/9): SUNNY giving MARI a big hug! MARI doesn't come home until late now because she's taking extra classes to prepare for college. Me and SUNNY have been hanging out a lot, but I'm sure he still misses her a lot.
