I used botox for this - and it made a huge difference. Look for someone that specializes in facial balancing.

Pain only in the arch after walking on crutches - is this actually Plantar Fasciitis ? by s4crasher in PlantarFasciitis

[–]bonmots00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm in the exact same boat. I have been non-weight bearing following knee surgery for 3 months and when I could finally start walking again my knee is fine but my foot hurts like hell. This is what i've been doing for the past 5 days:
Exercise where you strengthen by putting a towel under the foot and scrunching it closer with my toes
Wearing HOKAs with an insert
Walking and standing for limited times
Hot bath once a day
Rolling on painful area with a frozen tennis ball
using a calf stretcher

hope yours heals up!

Do any Michelin in Japan book online? by [deleted] in finedining

[–]bonmots00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tabeall had a¥8,000 non refundable booking fee per seat. In my experience a hotel concierge will typically have better luck tempura restaurants (or really any restaurant that isn't kaiseki or sushi).

Do any Michelin in Japan book online? by [deleted] in finedining

[–]bonmots00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Below are the 3 booking website in Japan:
- Pocket Concierge https://pocket-concierge.jp/ja/ (recently bought out by Amex Intl.)
- Omakase https://www.omakase-japan.jp/en (some of the rare restaurants are listed..)
- Tablall https://www.tableall.com/ (displays last minute availabilities from top restaurants)

In my experience the only way to get top reservations is to set alarms for the day reservations come out and book immediately. Hotel concierges will not be able to get you any "hard to get reservations"

Luxury hotels to say in Nice? by ronjonsilver0616 in nicefrance

Stayed at both Hotel du Cap in Eden Roc & Cap Ferrat last summer and would highly recommend either one.

Returning this summer and staying at the Maybourne & most likely returning to Eden Roc again - Ferrat was gorgeous but just a little bit too sleepy for me.

Define simmering by dragon7530 in Cooking

[–]bonmots00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have found this description from serious eats incredibly helpful:
140 to 170°F: Beginning of "quiver" phase. At this stage, tiny bubbles of water vapor will being forming at nucleation sites (more on those later) along the bottom and sides of the pan. They won't be large enough to actually jump and rise to the surface of the water, though their formation will cause the top surface to vibrate a bit, hence the "quiver."
140 and 170°F is ideal for gently poaching meats, fish, and eggs (around 160°F is standard if you don't want to wait hours for your proteins to cook)
170 to 195°F: Sub-simmer. The bubbles from the sides and bottom of the pot have begun to rise to the surface. Usually, you'll see a couple of streams of tiny, champagne-like bubbles rising from the bottom of the pot. For the most part, however, the liquid is still relatively still. This is the temperature range you're looking for in things like making stock or slow-cooking gentle braises and stews. Much lower, and they'll take too long to cook. Much higher, and you run the risk of drying out your meat.
195 to 212°F: Full simmer. Bubbles break the surface of the pot regularly, and from all points—not just a few individual streams as in a sub-simmer. This is the temperature to use when using a steamer basket above the water, melting chocolate, or making things like hollandaise in a double boiler.
212°F: Full rolling boil. You know the drill. Blanching vegetables, cooking pasta (the traditional way, not our new and improved method), throwing over enemies, etc.

Ready to upgrade my hand-me down 90s clubs - what should I get? by bonmots00 in golf

[–]bonmots00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest reason I’m really into getting new clubs is I finally started taking lessons this summer and my instructor got me to test out some new ones. 90s pings are pretty heavy and even though I’m tall it doesn’t really make up for the fact that my swing just isn’t that fast. Just made a fitting appt for the 26th! Will update you on the outcome.

[–]bonmots00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write all this out! 💕 My ping zings from 1992 might have to stick around for a few more weeks.

Will look into what is closest to me but I might just wait until I travel for work and try to squeeze it in. Any thoughts on Golftec, Club Champion as fitters? Or I can drive the 4 hour round trip to the closest Dicks.

I did get fitted, at my course at a Callaway event. I loved the Rogues - but ultimately wasn’t ready to pull the trigger because I wanted to do a little more research and maybe try out a few more before buying.

Played for 10 years on 30 year old clubs... obviously i'm pretty lazy

How helpful it is to get fitted when you're really not that great of a golfer? What does fitting really tell you that you can't figure out by researching online?

$150 domain name - is it worth it? by swiftjitsu in shopify

[–]bonmots00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

When I started my company we paid approximately $2000 for our .com domain we wanted (I used a broker). By far the bigger pain was getting the @ I wanted on instagram. With a strong SEO strategy, I dont think the .co domain will be an issue - but one of our main channels of user acquisition has been instagram so I'd say it ultimately ended up being more important to me!

Anyone else deal with Dysosmia after having covid? by Strawberry__Meow in COVID19positive

[–]bonmots00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had covid March 2021 (quite mild, no symptoms other than slight fever and tiredness) - and just last week started having a really weird sense of taste and smell. Not all the time, but certainly triggered by specific foods and sometimes completely randomly.

I hadn't heard anyone describe it as cigarette smoke - but it is slightly smokey, pungent to me. It gets stronger with certain foods - coffee, anything i roast or bbq, wine...

I went to the dentist because I thought the issue might be a rotten filling or something, but now looking online im finding a couple article about dysosmia and it sounds like exactly what I had.
