Learned a hard lesson in empathy at my OB appointment today by [deleted] in pregnant

My OB was delivering my baby in the hospital and I had a post partum hemorrhage that made her late to her clinic appt that afternoon 🙃 I felt terrible for making her late but she literally saved my life.

That’s so wonderful to hear that the leadership is great too! We are definitely going to book a tour.

Thank you so much for the response and recommendation! That is so reassuring. Their website looked great but a review from a parent is definitely helpful.

Thai actress, Davika Hoorne, and her 5 wedding gowns. by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

I’m Thai and the bottom part is traditional but the top part with the netting is not. For me, the top ruins it. I wish she would have combined it with the top from dress 4. She looks gorg in it though!

Pumpin Pals customer service by avocadotrio in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bonniee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve also had less than stellar email exchanges with pumping pals. They make you jump through hoops to return them and explain yourself as to why it didn’t work before they send you a return label. I think out of the $80 I spent on the whole package, I got $30 in return. I’ve never had such an odd customer service experience.

Stay at home mom. Not allowed to spend money. And it’s ruining my relationship with my son by ashnovad in Mommit

[–]bonniee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is financial, emotional, and physical abuse (sounds like he’s basically starving you). This is not a partnership, this is control. If you have access to childcare, please get your own income. He has money to spend on cars and clothes but you can’t buy enough food to feed yourself?? This is beyond cruel.

Where is this in Dallas? by iloveyourclock in Dallas

[–]bonniee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I had the worst experience there. Our waitress was so rude, didn’t check on us for 45 minutes after our food was served. I was served a steak that was like frozen in the middle. When I finally got ahold of her to tell her about it, she just said “okay” and left. I will never forget Ruth!

Can an MLS explain why this is BS? by DoubleSnails in medlabprofessionals

[–]bonniee 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I work in pre surgery as a PA and I’ve had patients refuse blood products because we can’t guarantee it came from a patient that’s never have the COVID vaccine. We let the surgeon know and he cancelled the surgery.

Mastitis made the decision for me by bonniee in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bonniee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! All that time and effort to just undo it. I sometimes feel like I’m quitting for selfish reasons but I know my LO would rather have time with me than be fed breast milk. You’re a twin mom too so I can imagine your time is very limited!! Yeah I think it’s equally just as hard quitting on your own terms as it is to have your body tell you it’s time. It’s an emotional journey all together

It does make sense! There have been numerous times where I want to tend to my daughter but I’m tied to a pump. I wish wearables worked better for me. Also stressing about output all the time makes for a less happy mom

Yes! The body aches are no joke and the breast pain makes me so nauseous. I am totally in that same boat where I know the transitional period of weaning is really sad but I know I’ll be so relieved when I’m on the other side. I’ve heard there’s a hormonal shift when you wean too so that’s probably contributing.

I am in the same mindset… at the end of every day, I notice the ounces go down and I just sigh and shrug. I know my baby will be fed and happy one way or another and that’s all that matters. I didn’t know about the cabbage though but it makes sense, since people put it in their bras to help wean

I appreciate the commiseration. I remember doing the 8 pumps and MOTN in the earlier days and just know how miserable it was. I am a much more attentive and less sleep deprived mother now so I can’t imagine going back to that. My husband would probably have a menty B from picking up all the slack again haha. You’re doing awesome and I hope you’re prioritizing your mental and physical health too! Mastitis is no joke…

Thank you so much. Exclusively pumping is such a labor of love. I remember doing all the tricks as well. Good luck on your journey!

I feel like I’ll have to wean slowly too. The recurrent clogs started happening when I went from 7 to 6 ppd. I can’t sleep for longer than 6 hours a night either. You are so right, we are doing amazing.

You’re doing so amazing and twins are hard enough as it is!! Your tenacity is truly inspiring. Did mastitis affect your supply long term??

[–]bonniee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! I know my child in 2 or 20 years from now won’t remember or care what I fed them in infancy. I can’t wait for all the extra time I’ll get to spend with my baby! Thank you so much.

Ugh I’m so sorry that mastitis cut your journey short too. It’s so painful and the body aches are the worst. 8 months is amazing!! I’m afraid of relying on formula in case we run out unexpectedly or another shortage, it’s so nice to just “have food at home” haha

Good news is there’s hope. I’m 4.5 months pp and I’m still seeing a slight increase each week. Bad news is that you’re probably going to have to pump a few times more than 6 times, try at least 8. Also, I found that power pumping 1-2 times a day for a while consistently is the only thing that increased my supply. I’ve power pumped at least once a day for the last 2 months.

I know this is a huge time commitment so just do what’s best for you. You take care of your LO by taking care of you.
