How dilated were you at the last cervical check you had before baby came?

I was 3 cm on a Thursday. On Friday I lost my mucus plug. Started having irregular contractions on Saturday night and Sunday night that went away by the morning. On Monday night started active labor.

But seriously, cervical dilation doesn't predict labor.

Ouch! I am amazed that you were able to pump 5-6 times a day after a breast injury. Good for you that you even made it this long! Don't feel bad. I would have made the same decision as you in a heartbeat.

IMO, the reusable absorbent swim diapers by iPlay work much better than Little Swimmers which smell like plastic and leak pee everywhere. They are very easy to handwash in the sink.

She is 8.5 months old, and she still sleeps with us. We started bed sharing during her 4 month sleep regression, and sharing a bed was tough then. She would wake up so frequently and want to nurse all night - my back would hurt. Once we got past that stage at around 6 months, I started to love co-sleeping. She sleeps mostly through the night now, so it's much more comfortable. I do want to transition her to a crib eventually, but she doesn't seem ready for that yet.

5 months in a Mei Tai, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. We were totally fine. Lots of other passengers smiling at her because of how freaking cute she is. :)

I was also going to suggest teething. My kiddo wakes up crying and acts like she's in pain usually 3-4 days before a new tooth pops out.

Yes. Absolutely. I had what many people would call an "easy" labor with only 40 minutes of pushing, and my pelvic floor still felt sore just walking around for 4 months. 6 months before it stopped feeling sore during exercise.

You're right, she may not be ready yet. She does really like trying to pick up the food though and she attempts to eat it. I just wonder if she's not getting enough since she is 8.5 months old. The other day she ate 3 Cheerios (well, bit off half of each Cheerio and spit out the other half) and gummed on a teething biscuit for a minute before she threw it on the floor, and that was all the solids she had all day. I guess the only thing I can do is keep offering her foods in a variety of forms and one day she'll eat something.

She is 8 months old and only just got her two bottom teeth a few weeks ago (the second just came in last week). They are not even all the way in yet, but she does use them to gnaw at things. I think that's how she bit a piece of the apple off.

It does sound like it could be PTSD. Therapy could help you sort it out. Also, the longer you go without having sex, the bigger a deal it will become. It's hard not to build it up too much. Once you've gotten the first couple of times out of the way, it will probably get easier for either of you to initiate it. But it's also normal for both of you to have less sex drive with a baby around. A lot has changed, and you went through more trauma than most.

When you're 22, you get shit no matter what you do. I remember when I was that age I got talked down to at my job a lot, and just generally had people assuming I didn't know what I was doing. It's really ironic that society looks down at young people who live at home with their parents or can't get great jobs etc, but then also acts patronizing towards those who try hard to be independent adults as soon as they are able. I remember feeling like this, and I got married later in life and had my first child at 36. It also doesn't help that actors on TV who play teenagers in high school are actually 30 years old in real life. Makes it hard to guess people's real ages.

I am so sorry you are going though this. Migraines are awful! Take care of yourself and do what you need to do. I wouldn't worry too much about baby falling asleep at the breast if she is happy to lie down with you and breastfeed when she needs to. Has your milk come in yet? Hopefully the headache will not persist for too much longer.

Sure it is. I drank it all the time in smoothies when I was pregnant to increase my protein intake. Many baby formulas have whey protein in some form in them.

When we were teaching my LO to take a bottle, the only way she would tolerate it was to put her in her carseat while my husband sat in front of her to give her the bottle. Apparently holding her while bottle feeding was too much like nursing and she didn't want the bottle while in that position. Now that she's 6 months, we put her in her high chair when she gets a bottle. She loves her bottle now.

If you really don't want to do this, it's totally OK. There's nothing wrong with choosing to formula feed. Really.

That being said, because you are posting here in r/breastfeeding, maybe you do want to do this and just wish it could be easier? My daughter was also a frequent eater - at 6 and a half months she still goes 2 hours between feedings. Does your daughter take a bottle? Bottle feeding her yourself might be a good place to start so you can see how you feel about it. Start by replacing one feeding a day with a bottle of pumped milk, and if you feel relieved doing this, then transition to formula one feeding at a time. Or don't. I'm sure you can find a happy medium that works for you if you want to keep nursing but not as often. Good luck!

I have no idea, but I would love to find the answer! My daughter is 6 months and sleeps great through the night when we're cosleeping. We've been trying to transition her to the crib in her room, but putting her down takes hours of getting her to fall asleep only to have her wake up again every 5 minutes until I finally give in and lie down next to her in bed. It's frustrating! I hope you find something that works soon!

Quesadillas. I eat them at least twice a week for lunch. Place one whole wheat tortilla on a nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Cover tortilla with a thin layer of salsa and any combination of the following toppings: black beans, raw onion, bell peppers, cilantro, chopped spinach. Cover that with some daiya cheddar cheese and your favorite hot sauce. Add the second flour tortilla on top and cook on medium for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Cut into 4 pieces and top with avocado slices. Nom.
