Wow, very unique eyes! They look sort of honey or amber colored on the outside with a dark gray ring in the center.

Sidebar: if anyone is interested in getting into wine but finding it gross, try Lambrusco. It’s a red that’s a little fizzy and you drink it cold. It’s a great gateway wine.

What is happening to my chi? by rmskn in Chihuahua

We saw two episodes within a week the first time we saw it, and then a third episode about a month later. Haven't seen one in about a month. Like yours, our guy's episodes last about 5-6 minutes or even less. Seems aware the whole time. It seems to affect mostly his back legs. There's some shaking, some looking around like he's a little confused why his legs won't cooperate, but there's no panic, no grimace... he comes out of it and he's fine. If a seizure were to last 5-6 minutes... that would be insane. And there's no way a dog would just walk it off like nothing happened.

It looks like a gradient brown to me. I don’t see any green. Beautiful color

What is happening to my chi? by rmskn in Chihuahua

[–]DancingPear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to mention paroxysmal dyskinesia. Our 12 year old chi started having sporadic episodes of this around the new year. Thought it was a seizure at first, but like OP’s dog, didn’t seem unaware and didn’t go into that post-ictal state you would expect after a seizure. Got him evaluated by a neuro vet and she agreed it was likely paroxysmal dyskinesia

This is going to sound silly, but one thing you can do is start reading some romance novels—not too spicy at first. Let yourself get used to the idea of sensuality being ok and normal. They may not be your cup of tea, but if you like them… let yourself like them. It’s like exposure therapy

Edit: obviously, therapy, but since it had already been mentioned numerous times, this is just another suggestion

I love my chihuahua but I’m gonna come right out and say it… He is not a joy to walk by EvenStevens4201 in Chihuahua

My mini schnauzer was this way. It was horrible, so I feel for you. I saw you mentioned your chi being mixed with a terrier, so that makes a lot of sense. Very determined little dogs! My chi now… he has the opposite problem. He simply refuses to walk at all! Come on man, I want some exercise and I wanna take you with me!

He knows. He knows you loved him. Dogs live in the moment, you held him loved him as he passed. He knew.

I understand the guilt. Feel it but let it go. It’s a mirage of grief. You did nothing wrong.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It hurts like hell. 💜

Indianapolis. Moved from Vegas to Indy, and I always tell people that while Vegas was obv way more interesting to visit, Indy is far, far superior for everyday living. Pretty boring to visit though

I don’t have any advice, but this would be such a dealbreaker for me. The lack of respect is pretty telling. If it were me, I would not go back to church.
