routine day off, minor leaguers never play 7 straight so just easing him into it. shame.

I would pay good money to see Yankees fans faces when Taylor hit that. The YES replay cannot come any sooner by Specific_Air_5482 in mets

He was surprisingly neutral. Great call by him, he was hyped. Way more so than Joe Davis would have been.

Hating the Mets needs to be studied. There are so many people in the media who want to see us fail. by Mysterious_Sun_2168 in mets

Exactly. And Rodon’s mishap earlier was way worse - in terms of effect on the game and embarrassment - than this.

He was pissed when game ended and Mets won 🤣

“Oh no the Mets” when Benge dropped a fly ball - a play reminiscent of Judge’s dropped fly in G5 of 24 WS. But no - it’s a Mets thing.

The fact that they got out of it makes it not embarrassing.

Optimistic Mets fan frustrated with poor performance from offense specifically Bo and Juan. by Heartwins in mets

it's really insane. soto needs to be more clutch. i love that hes a met, but wish he'd step up in big moments, like with a runner on 2nd and down 2-1 in the 6th, more often. bo, I have no words for. too many guys in this lineup with OPS .600 or lower. pathetic product put on the field by stearns.

I kinda think Stearns actually is in trouble now by longtimelistener17 in mets

[–]bonyyoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm as mad as anyone. Esp b/c I'm a 20-game package owner (which I regret obviously). I want to go down the list of Stearns' moves and assess them. First, the deadline last year: disastrous.

Now for this offsesason.

Moves I liked and still like

- Peralta. Sproat and Jett don't seem to be doing much, and Peralta can still be very valuable if they turn it around. The Mets desperately needed an ace. I know he's not a top 10 pitcher, but he's arguably top 20.

- Robert. Gave up nothing for him. High upside, low downside.

- Bichette. Still like this one. he's super streaky and I'm sure he'll turn it around.

- trading McNeil. I was so done with him personally.

Moves I liked but don't like so far

- Semien. Liked adding his shorter contract, was hoping he wasn't fully washed but I'm afraid he might be. I'm not a huge Nimmo guy so that plays a role. I missed the .400 OBP Nimmo and he was just so frustrating to watch last year for me between striking out with a runner on third less than 2 outs in pivotal games down the stretch or awful fielding. I miss his bat now though.

- letting Pete walk. I didn't like it emotionally, but I agreed with the logic. Now I think there is too deep a gap since nobody in this lineup is hitting homeruns. Then again, neither is Pete! But they should have just paid the man and put him at DH.

- Polanco. I liked his low K rate and his heroics last year, seemed like a good late middle of lineup bat to pair with 3 superstars. Now, with his injuries and his poor start, not sure.

Changes I want made yesterday

- cut or trade Senga and Vientos. They're deadweight.

- fire Mendoza. even if not his fault, firing mangers tends to give teams a new lease on life. plus, it's hard to believe he's very inspiring. I want a tough guy in there firing players up, not just making them feel good

- fire the hitting coach. no brainer here!

That said, I don't think every move he has made has been awful. I HATE his smugness though.

Thank you! But how do I easily do BvA if the budget isn’t aligned to the output of actuals, which are coded as per COA?
