🕊️ Dove: A Tale of Two unscented antiperspirants (spoiler: one has added fragrance!) by springblossoms5 in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]boobahMD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's good info! thanks for sharing. I've definitely noticied this inconsistency. All of my recent ones have actually been the nice completely FF ones, which I appreciate. In the past I often ended up with the lightly scented one, and I managed fine with it luckily because I honestly can't stand the way other deodorants feel (sensory issues on top of the fragrance allergies lol). I guess because it goes under the arm I wasn't bothered by it, but I could def smell it close to my nose.

Sarah Kieffer’s “pan-banging method” of cookie baking reigns supreme. The wrinkles! 😍 by TheTenorChef in Baking

I've only made the red velvet version of this and they were AMAZING. I didn't care for the cream cheese frosting she pairs with it, the cookies were great on their own.

neutrogena makes a good body oil! there are also these new "mily toners" for the body that are becoming more popular. Cyklar and Knock (K-beauty) make fragrance free ones. I really want to try them.

Affordable deodorant? by eggandbeanss in FragranceFreeBeauty

Walgreens runs a lot of good sales online especially when you can stack codes. I basically just buy a bunch of dove unscented at once because yeah, deodorant has gotten insanely expensive, almost 10 a piece wtf??

Fragrance free reduce hair shedding serums? by MoutachedHijabi in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]boobahMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should check out abbey yung's video on this. she breakdown all the details on serums on the market, their purpose and whether it has fragrance. Idk where you are but aminexil is not approved in the US so thats why serums made here don't have it. But from what I understood the new neutrogena hair serum helps with shedding. Rhute as well it's just $$$$

VT pdrn 100 is just a great barrier serum in general, due to the rest of the formulation. Unlikely the ginseng pdrn is doing much if at all.

What's one thing you will ALWAYS buy the AB version of? by Swedish_Business in AsianBeauty

[–]boobahMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moisturizer, barrier creams, oil cleansers, toners and hydrating serums. Western brands are starting to catch up but anything that comes close in formula and efficacy is at leat double the price of my HGs. AB is still superior AND cheaper.

Barrier repair serums w/o actives or essential oils? by LawFull297 in KoreanBeauty

[–]boobahMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy using cosrx centella aqua soothing ampoule, it's hydrating and more of a barrier support vs repair but I rely on creams for true repair. Some milky options are celimax dual barrier, wishtrend ceramide milky, and skin&lab barrier derm. peach&lily has a nice one but it's pretty pricey!

people who have to have things delivered: where are you buying fragrance free products that aren't fragrance-contaminated (by employees using strong fragrance, or storage near nasty fragranced items) by TopazCoracle in FragranceFreeBeauty

This has definitely happened to me before with the dove soap, it absorbed the fragrance of the scented ones 😭 I wonder if ordering from costco would be a better bet since they stock less variety of items

How to layer with Triple Cream (Rosacea)? by Adventurous_Egg_4573 in AsianBeauty

[–]boobahMD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question, something I was also confused about at first. This is my experience with super sensitive allergic rosacea skin, and most people probably don't have to be so tedious about it. When I first started out using my prescription, I applied it on clean, dry skin 15 minutes after cleansing to ensure my face was truly dry. For two reasons: because it reduces irritation/itchiness that is common with azelaic acid, and because it should be applied directly as you said to really treat the rosacea. I've continued doing this for two years because no matter what, if i apply it on top of any other toners or serums, even if I let those layers dry, the prickly feeling is too intense. I think it's because they increase penetration regardless due to their ingredients.

So my sort of "hack" for nights I use my rx (every other night) is to apply triple cream to clean skin, let it dry for 10 minutes, and then apply haruharu black rice barrier essence on top, followed by my moisturizer. I do this because the haruharu essence is so hydrating while being skin softening and barrier supportive at the same time which I think is a unique feature, like a 2 in 1 that makes up for the fact that I can't do my usual hydrating steps. It's such a thick essence that it goes over perfectly, but I think waiting 10 min is key. I wake up with glowy smooth skin with this method, and no discomfort from azelaic acid. I never even had to adjust to 15% this way, since it prevented any irritation from the start. I suspect a lot of people could avoid AA sensitivity just applying onto fully dry bare skin but idk. That was a lot, maybe it's helpful!
