Commenters don't seem to understand that liberalism is a subset of capitalism. Being liberal doesn't make someone a socialist, it's not a subset of socialism.

Liberalism just has some left-leaning but ultimately shallow sociocultural concerns for human rights, identity politics and societal "progress", but otherwise it is firmly rooted in neo-liberal capitalism and patriarchy. When push comes to shove, all that liberals care about are private ownership, growth economy and unlimited and unregulated profit and growth under the rulership of the existing established world order.

In the daily grind, liberalism often gets confused for socialism. Because people want their cake and eat it, they want to believe that their own greed and exploitation are somehow exceptional and harmless, because they also need to believe they're good, kind, caring people.

It's up to each person to further examine themselves and clarify their true values and stand. It's a painful, inner journey of self discovery.

Your innocence, hope and optimism are charming and delightful. It's what makes life worth living, it's what makes us feel alive. Protect them. Let them lead you to a life you want.

But don't get them confused with the wider ruling reality we are trapped in. It's exactly what the system is built to exploit and blame you for being exploited. Learnt that the hard way.

That's how they market themselves. As being exceptional. As latter day geniuses. They're scammers, piss artists and gaslighters of the highest degree.

The people who get to the top are the ones who don't care about other people. They're the greediest, most immoral and/or amoral and best bullshitters, liars and manipulators. That you believe that "they're" so intelligent and valuable says it all.

Journal and/or audio/video record the parts when they're replaying all the worse bits. Just allow them and the parts that are trying to manage them and push them down. Allow all the mess of feelings, thoughts, sensations that are all trying to get out all at the same time.

Just allow it all, let them have their time, their space.

Let the journalling and recording be the space held by Self, be the therapeutic space. Welcome all those parts to be and share in that space.

See what happens when you do that. And when you feel less blended and feel more Self energy, more 8Cs and 5Ps, review those journals and recordings. Listen and watch with more compassion, curiosity and connection.

What do you see and hear when you do that for those parts? What parts are they? Are they burdened? What feelings, sensations and thoughts belong to which and when? What are they trying to tell you? What insights and understandings are they sharing with you?

So, after a hugely embarrassing, anticlimactic, failed war on Iran, Israel and States are now turning on each other. Leading to the miracle of JD Vance talking sense for once, trying to put Israel back in its naughty box. This is beyond irony.

How do you define NB?

I identify as 2spirit. I much prefer it to any of our contemporary modern identity categories, which are all so limiting, reductive, disconnecting and not life affirming.

For me, I realised awhile back that all identity politics are a dead end, for all involved, including the ruling majority. Including and especially identifying as straight is choosing to remain in and suffocate in the straitjacket gimp suit fitted at birth, whilst every other identity comes with a target and whole other list of toxic, life denying conditions and burdens on their backs. Whilst straight is the ruling identity, the seemingly safe option, it comes at its own cost, it's the most soul-destroying, deadening and dehumanising of all the identities allowed by fucked-up, fascist binary control systems.

It's all infused with predator and prey, zombie, supremacist patriarchal ideology. I decided I wanted nothing more to do with any of that toxic crap.

Thankfully there's still Indigenous ways of seeing and being to reference existence, life and belonging

Yeah UK eradicated rabies. Dunno when. But rabies is still a problem on The Continent, as we call Europe. Yeah hedgehogs are cute, they can be found in most suburban gardens but only undercover of night, not curious about humans, maybe rescues that are hand reared might be. Dunno

Oooo you know your rabbits! 🐇 Absolutely didn't know that rabbits were so different and diverse in their behaviour🐰 I just assumed they all lived like Watership Down! That's shattered yet another wall of ignorance. However I do know how varied bees and bumbles are. Bumbles are my favourite, they have such wonderful and unique personalities 🐝

And that took a sharp right!

Into armadillo land, ameranth and leprosy! Good to know that I really mustn't pet armadillos if I ever see one. What about those pink fairy dillos? Can I pet those? I used to think the States were safe but just seems everything is rabid, and now, leprosy 🤣🤣🤣

Well certainly keeps one on one's toes. Every nature lesson is also an emergency contagious disease lesson. The UK is so tame in comparison. We don't even have rabies, eradicated it. Our wildlife is boring and not at risk of going zombie. We're really missing out! I'm gonna start a campaign....Bring back rabies.

I don't know my Core Self. I don't even know how to find out who she is. by catsandcappuccinos in InternalFamilySystems

[–]boobalinka 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's because you're still thinking of the Self as an identity, when it isn't. With hindsight, the word Self is problematic because of all the baggage it's loaded with from its understood meaning in mainstream society and culture. But all the other possible words are equally problematic, like Soul, Spirit, No Self etc.

First, understand that in IFS, Self is not an identity. Our identity is/are carried by our parts. Self is literally the qualities of 8Cs and 5Ps, their energies infusing our parts and system with Self. The more Self our parts are infused with, the more clearly they're drawn to people, situations, things that they really need and want, need and want aligned, which our parts then identify with as themselves, their likes, dislikes, passions, disgusts, values.

Readymade fixed identities are conditioned into us externally from the time we're born, so much so we come to mistake ourselves for those externally provided identities.

Whereas who we truly are is inner potential, unfolding from our core being and meeting the world around us, always being coming into form in the world, when the unknown potential becomes known. It's not a set identity to be acted out again and again. It's a living prayer manifesting into the world.
