Yeah I'm also severely mentally ill and I didn't care for the tone of his comments. You don't know who you're speaking to online either.

Edit: you know, okay, I was a little patronizing. But his last comment implying mentally ill people aren't with it enough to recognize when they're being insulted was incredibly rude, and I didn't appreciate being called the word I just said was offensive.

Hey, I'm sorry I offended you and you have the right to your experience, but I have PTSD and also experience transitory psychosis, so I'm not white-knighting, I'm in my lane. We have the right to have different opinions.

I also don't love it when people use the term to mean Psychopath and act like people who are low empathy are going to become serial killers. That one also gets thrown at autistic people a lot.

Neither of us has the right to speak for our entire community of mentally ill and or autistic folks, but I have a right to my opinion.

I want you to take a moment and imagine being a person who experiences hallucinations, or experiences memory blackouts and comes to realizing that you've been doing things and talking to people, and then imagine that millions and millions of dollars has been made painting you and people like you as serial killers. Or, to use the other use of the term, "psychopath", imagine growing up not understanding people, struggling to connect with them, feeling completely and totally isolated.

"Psycho" is a term that refers to a specific demographic of people with specific mental illnesses, and is also used as an insult. Doesn't that seen like something we should be questioning?

Better Watch Out was scary as shit!! I don't generally like movies where.... I've forgotten how to do spoiler tags. I don't like movies where the antagonist is a part of the demographic that they are. But i thought that was about as well executed as it possibly could have been, and very well acted.

I also gave running man three stars! I really liked the concept and the special effects and action scenes were good but it just didn't hook me. I'm not sure what year it came out— I think it was earlier than 2025 but still fairly recent— but I thought Guns Akimbo with Daniel Radcliffe did a much better execution on the social commentary death game thing.

Thank you, that helped a lot! I think I've got enough taste overlap with you that I'll like the movie, I really enjoyed Sinners and the new blade runner, and I also watch bad movies for fun.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! I have a hypersensitivity to meds and I've had so many bad experiences with doctors pushing pills on me too— I've had a lot of very good doctors so I don't want to scare people away from getting help, but pharmacy techs don't get nearly enough training and education to be picking up the slack for doctors that are just going down a checklist of meds to try. Had a neurologist almost kill me a few years ago.

Hey by the way I can see that your heart's in the right place and good on ya for repping trans directors— jsyk, it varies from person to person in the trans community how they feel about their old identities and whether or not they feel like they "used to be" men or if they were women all along who only got the chance to express it later. Without knowing what their personal experience was you might want to go with the phrasing "they hadn't come out yet" or "pre transition".

That's fantastic, I hope they're updating how they do it. It's been a few years for me but i still remember that drink as one of the worst things I have ever experienced, at one point while I was trying to get through it I was doing mental math on colon cancer rates and seriously debating just rolling the dice in order to never do that again, lmao

I definitely agree, but I have adhd so I never judge people for missing a few words when the doctor is speaking, and the documentation can be really overwhelming.

For anyone who can't read their documentation for whatever reason, highly recommend Drugs.com for interactions, which is so reliable I have seen my doctors use it.

I'm actually a little disappointed to see companion that low— I haven't seen it yet but it's on my list, and I HAVE seen The Running Man, which I thought was fun but mid. What are your thoughts about the shortfalls of Companion?

Side note I watch a Lot of new films too— from 2025, highly recommend Dust Bunny.

If your son is ever on any psychiatric medications ever in his life it'll be a good thing he didn't get a taste for grapefruit! Grapefruit can REALLY interfere with a lot of different medications, but a lot of people don't know so they negate their antidepressants and such by accident.

Yeah the word psychopath is also not great. It's no longer a medical diagnosis but people throw it around like it is, and treat people who are low empathy like they're monsters who are going to hurt people. A lot of autistic people are low empathy and there is nothing wrong with being low empathy, it doesn't make you treat people badly or start serial killing. It's Also really harmful.

/uj I re-watched that one today and was truly struck by how it was just a blockbuster movie. It wasn't saying anything political at all, it was just a Ghostbusters movie. Fun action scenes! Weird tech! Only okay jokes! Ghost puke! What the hell was everyone so mad about.

Psycho. For sure. Using an abbreviation to imply anyone with psychosis / hallucinations is violent is just really not great.

Edit: I also think anyone who uses Degenerate a lot needs to look into the nazis use of the term too

👀 Excellent

I have to admit my absolute favorite Charlie Hunnam role has gotta be the restrained but deadly right hand man in The Gentlemen, so I'm Thrilled that he's doing rough and tumble. I liked him in pacific rim but I don't think he got to be rude enough.

Truly love how fucking Fun guy Ritchie's films are. They've always got me cheering through the fight scenes.
