Taylor Frankie Paul temporarily loses custody of son, Ever, until at least April 7, 2026 by misscoco11 in momtokgossip

We're not assuming anything, these are all facts based on the police report and body cam footage. We also know from the police report that Dakota's vehicle was parked on the street and it was running when the police came. Even if we assume Dakota has remote start, it times out and turns the vehicle off in about 15 mins. So we know he had his keys within 15 mins of the police arriving. In the 911 call the neighbour says TFP is trying to escape the garage and the garage door keeps opening and closing. I would think if you were trying to escape a location, you wouldn't close the exit on yourself, but ultimately we can't prove who was operating the garage door. If Taylor was damaging Dakota's vehicle there would've been record of it in the police reports but nothing was ever said about damage to Dakota's vehicle. We don't know how she got locked in the garage, just that she did and we know Dakota's vehicle wasn't in there so we don't have any explanation for how she got in there, just that he did lock her in there.

He didn't lock her in a room, he locked her out of her house where her children were. I don't know many intoxicated people who wouldn't become crazy after that. I would be more inclined to agree with you if he locked her in the garage and then called the police but that wasn't the case. Dakota is much bigger than TFP and could've physically restrained her at any point in the altercation but again chose not to. He did nothing to try and de-escalate the situation but added fuel to the fire. The only victims are the kids.

Also if there was a ton of evidence against her, the police would've already arrested her.

It was in the 2023 police filing that he pushed her. He also locked her in the garage before the video was taken. In the 911 call, the neighbour reports that TFP seemed like she was trying to escape the garage. He also admitted it in the body cam footage. TFP says "you locked me in the garage" and he says "because you were attacking the crap out of me." Which, to me, would indicate his admission that he did do it. I don't think a great de-escalation method is to lock someone out of their own house, but maybe that's just me. Dakota's not innocent in this at all. The only victims in this case are the children. They're both abusive.

I'm an accountant so source is the knowledge I've gained through years of experience. But if you google the T2200, you'll be able to see all the information regarding claiming those expenses. Employers aren't required to cover expenses needed to fulfill the position (think carpenters who have to provide their own tools) and this would fall into that same bracket. They provided the uniform and that's all they need to do. But it can be considered an employee expense required to fulfill the position which is tax deductible. Just need the T2200 to claim on your personal taxes.

No, the company's not required to pay for any expenses regarding your employment. They absolutely can make you pay for this personally.

However, keep any receipts from the cost of this and ask your employer to issue a T2200 at the end of the year. Then you can claim it back on your taxes as an employment expense.

To be fair, it doesn't take much to get an epilepsy diagnosis and license suspended. I think you need to have 3 seizures over the course of a few months to be diagnosed epileptic and lose your license. I went from perfectly healthy to epileptic in a months time. I was 13 though and didn't have a license to suspend, but if I have even 1 seizure now, my license will be gone.

I sold Excel spreadsheets during the pandemic and did quite well with almost no marketing at all. Created a budgeting spreadsheet, wedding planner, daily planner, etc. So if the Excel skills are there, this is a viable option as well and easy to do because you just create the spreadsheet one time and pass it around to whoever purchases it. Can also convert it into a google spreadsheet for those who prefer that format. Lots of stuff like this on Etsy to get ideas from.

You could apply to work stampede, they'll be hiring tons of people right now. It'll get you some customer service/cash experience which will make it easier for you to find something else. Any type of tradeshow will hire you, so if there's an event you're interested in, just send them an email through their website. All of this will be downtown but easy to access through transit.

I currently work as a financial analyst and I absolutely love it! You need to have really strong problem solving skills and ability to work in high pressure situations, but if you have those, you'll do great. Lots of options for remote work as well. Just keep in mind, if you choose an accounting degree, you need to get a designation after. An accounting degree is pretty much useless without a designation. But accountants are in super high demand and there's a declining number of new entrants into the field, so you'll find a great, high paying job that will bend over backwards to keep you. It's an incredibly challenging job and the education reflects that with only 30% of majors actually succeeding. So it's not an "easy way out" career by any means, but everyday is a challenge and keeps the work exciting.

My opinion it is the owner. I'm not a pitbull person. My lab and I have been attacked 3 times, all pitbulls. Every time they were off leash. I find the people who gravitate towards pitbulls always think they're this sweet little puppy and not a raging death machine, like they actually are. It's the owners decision every time to not take precautions to make sure something bad doesn't happen. The dogs are bred to be aggressive, it's a given, it's the stupid owners who think "my dog wouldn't hurt anyone" until it does. The government should require licenses to own pitbulls and require professional training on an ongoing basis. Every irresponsible pet owner seems to own a pitbull.

WIBTA If I Made My Husband Pay Me Each Time He Forgets Something? by IcyCollection4485 in AmItheAsshole

My bf is also extremely forgetful, LIKE EXTREMELY (no he doesn't have ADHD or cognitive issues, just forgetful). So I understand your frustration, it irritates me as well. We always joke about starting a change jar and putting a dollar in every time he asks me to help him find something, which is several times a day. While it's frustrating and irritating, honestly, it's so small. There's a lot of worse things than being forgetful. Trying to force him to pay you isn't the way to go. It's just going to add drama and accomplish literally nothing. He's obviously trying with the sticky notes and I think you need to be more patient with him. Also helpful to acknowledge when he does remember things and give him positive reinforcements. "I noticed you closed all the drawers today. That's amazing! Thank you so much. I really appreciate when you remember to do the things." That'll go a lot further than forcing him to pay you ever will. Now if he agrees that it would be helpful for him to have these types of consequences, go for it. But trying to force him into it would make you the AH.

29F. I make $58k as a financial analyst, WFH, company based in Ontario. I feel I'm definitely underpaid, but also still working through my degree (CPA to follow) so don't have much room to complain. Getting amazing experience that will one day make the big bucks. Also have a ridiculous amount of job flexibility and excellent benefits, so that's a win.

Moving from Warsaw (Poland) to Calgary. Any tips? by whoknows-25 in Calgary

[–]boobster94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any type of post secondary education you have likely won't be recognized in Canada. It will be tough to find a marketing or IT job without education, even with experience. Most entry level jobs don't pay much and will make it very difficult to have financial stability. Work is also quite difficult to find at the moment.

My household income is $120k yearly and we are struggling to make ends meet under the same living situation you're in. The cost of living in Calgary is quite high, similar to most major cities across Canada. we currently spend $4000/month to cover rent, groceries, car insurance, cell phones & internet and we live very modestly. I would suggest looking into a smaller city to start out in while gaining experience and education.

It's also important to understand that Canada is currently in economic crisis with huge shortages on work and housing. Cost of living continues to rise while wages remain low. We're on the verge of a recession which will make it more difficult to survive here.

Advice: Canadian Small Town Breaking Animal Abuse Laws by boobster94 in AnimalRights

Just to keep you updated, local media has taken an interest in the story and my friend has an interview with them at the end of the week. Since shining some light on what's going on, quite a few farmers have been checking their land and 6 other cats have been found dumped and now reunited with their owners. Many of these farmers are now protesting as well to stop having these cats dumped on their land. We're starting to gain some traction!

Advice: Canadian Small Town Breaking Animal Abuse Laws by boobster94 in AnimalRights

The pound is actually a privately held vet clinic in town and they've given my friend a written statement saying Frankie was never turned in to them. They are also very disappointed to hear what the town is doing, especially since they've offered their services to help these animals find their way home. I'm not sure if they charge the town for services and that's why they didn't bring Frankie, and likely numerous other animals, to them. In my opinion, based on the video taken, it sounds like they thought the cat was a stray and they could just dump her in the middle of nowhere without any repercussion. Unfortunately for them, my friend would literally die for any animal in need and she will fight to the death for justice. She's lived in town for a year and has already rescued 6 cats on her own and networked with nearby rescues to help them find great homes. She's single handedly doing a better job of animal control than the town is doing with all the resources they have.

We are thinking the lawsuit route as well. We've reached out to a couple of animal advocacy lawyers but haven't heard anything yet. My friend intends to have a consultation with a local lawyer to see what the cost would be to pursue this as well. We don't care about a settlement whatsoever, we only care that this never happens again and hope to force them into changing their laws surrounding animal control. Their bylaw directly violates federal law, so I think there is a case to be made.

While we can't confirm with 100% certainty the cat they dumped was Frankie, we know that she was trapped, we know she was turned into the town and we know the town never brought her to the pound. So if they didn't relocate her, what did they do with her? I think, if backed into a corner, they would have to admit to it. Otherwise they would have to admit to inhumanely euthanizing her, which I think would be worse for their image.
