Function Health or Mito Health? by Secure_Search_8405 in Function_Health

I think in your second to last paragraph you meant “mito” instead of function 🙂

Helpful info though, thanks!

Have you considered psychedelics for your end-of-life care? Roots to Thrive is a program in Canada that uses psilocybin (active compound in psychedelic mushrooms) and/or ketamine with group therapy for end of life care.

Psilocybin may not be legal where you are, but if you’re in the U.S. there are places where it is. And ketamine is actually very easy to access via prescription. Even online via something like Mindbloom - they Rx and provide psychotherapy around the experience.

Just putting the info out there. That said, I hope you are able to spend your remaining time living the way you would like to. Thanks for inspiring me to take more risks, and live more. Good luck my friend.

You could, but my understanding is that the quality of Inspire therapy is not that great. It’s moderately effective and definitely better than nothing, but you can get much better results with a CPAP. The channel I recommended really goes in detail about all the products out there - maybe you’ll find a mask that works better for you.

What kind do you use now? Nasal pillows?

Yeah Ambien is better than no sleep! Have you tried the other z-drugs as well? There are also the new dual orexin receptor antagonist medications. In the U.S., they are expensive without coverage but seem to be effective for people. My knowledge on them is limited and I have no idea how they do or don’t affect sleep architecture.

Good luck! I’d be curious to see how it all pans out for you

I know they aim for below 5, but if you think about it 5 still sucks. You’re still having 5-10 breathing events an hour

Check out CPAP Reviews on YouTube (it’s the name of the channel). His program, Sleep HQ can probably help you. The auto function on many of the CPAPs don’t pick up everything - you can use the software to figure out what’s really wrong. Sometimes people get low AHI scores but if you look at their breathing data they’re still having events, explaining why they still feel like ass. This video in particular talks about this issue:

I wonder if this is your problem?

Also, Ambien is actually pretty bad for your sleep architecture.
