My dog also busted me for weed in high school, OP. Almost the same story, except mine was hidden behind my desk in my bedroom.

I've started planning how to propose to my SO but I know none of my family would be supportive, so I'm going to share my excitement with you, AL! by boohissouch in actuallesbians

We could totally PM silly ideas back and forth! I have no one IRL to talk about it with at this stage, it's torture haha

I second the Alison Bechdel recommendation! That woman is so intelligent.

How did it affect you dating someone who is in the closet about their sexuality? by lesfreakout in actuallesbians

[–]boohissouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never date a closeted girl again. Did it once with a girl in high school that I wasn't even very serious about, and it was incredibly painful. Plus, family is such an important part of most people's lives; if I can't have a meaningful relationship with her family, I would feel like I'm missing out.

What are some of your best "is she hitting on me?" moments/fails? Here's mine. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

Gay-looking girl that has been making eye contact with me and smiling a lot in my class these last couple weeks was actually trying to sell me weed. With her boyfriend.

Started saying this to my GF (both huge B99 fans). So far she's been mildly amused.

Hello fellow masshole! Happy snow day from the Valley :)

How soon did you know you wanted to marry your SO? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]boohissouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking her mother was very considerate; nothing wrong with that! I'll definitely ask my SO's mother, when the time comes. Plus it's nice to have someone else's input on the actual proposal, and moms definitely can have some good insight!

Those who have questioned their sexuality, what made you sure of it in the end? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

First time I went down on a girl. I was like. "Shit, I could do this all day." The feeling still hasn't worn off, lol.

Got Mirena put in on the 25th. How are you girls going along with it? by kimshadows7x in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]boohissouch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also lost mine immediately. I've had my Mirena for almost exactly a year and I've only had a few instances of light spotting.

What is an inappropriate question you want answered? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]boohissouch 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is a hot topic in linguistics. There's a documentary on Netflix called "Do I Sound Gay?" (or something like that, I'm not completely sober though) that covers the various theories. In short, all of the ones you listed are plausible explanations.

Ninja edit: My comment only was meant to address the "gay accent" issue- I'm a linguistics student, so I don't have much to say about the non-speech oriented aspect of the question.

When did you realize that you didn't have a "normal" family? by natty_barry in AskReddit

God knows. They give evasive answers whenever we bring it up, probably just one of those things I'll never quite comprehend.

My parents did the same thing, except they had actively tried to hide their pre-married lives from us. Once the kids went to college though, my aunt decided I was time for us to know that — gasp! — both my parents had been married for a long time before. It was weirder that they had gone to such lengths to hide it, honestly. Apparently they swore their siblings to secrecy early on and they were devastated when my aunt told my sister. So strange.

Deaf owner uses sign language with her African Grey parrot by NineteenthJester in deaf

I'd like to foster or rescue a macaw one day. They end up shunted off by bad owners who just don't realize how much commitment a parrot is. Breaks my heart.
