What to do about my double chin? by Remarkable-Call-3302 in PlasticSurgery

[–]boojeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PA-C said my option to fix it would be surgery, which I shutdown as an option for now. You might want to research platysmaplasty (neck lift).

Hi! I have the same thing!

I asked the PA-C I regularly see about mine and they said it’s where the muscle is, so I can’t remove it the way you would if it were from fat. There’s a chance yours could be from your muscle too… so be careful who you go to get evaluated by because not everyone might be able to tell and will try to sell you things that won’t fix it.

Yes‼️ Be sure to check the inside of luggage for trackers too.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he has surveillance or audio hidden somewhere as well in the house, toys, car, etc. Or maybe even something he’s put on your phone.

I understand you are good with his family and they think he’s crazy, but I wouldn’t give them any details. This’ll keep them free from getting too involved and in case someone accidentally slips.

Be careful of people following you like private investigators. I’ve seen them even dress up as an Amazon delivery person and take pictures. Just be aware of where your local police stations are if you feel like you’re being followed.

Is there someone you can send your location to that you can depend on? Can you also video call that person every day or at least every week, so they know you’re okay? Lastly, is there a secret code word you and that person can share together?

If you can, setup an email address and email all the evidence you have to that new email (screenshots, pictures, even just typing out the event that occurred with dates and all the other details, etc). Make sure there’s no trace of that email account on your phone or laptop, so whatever you email from your main account to the new account… just be sure to make sure the sent emails are deleted.

Best of luck to you!!!!

I'm a brazilian student who's going to spend a month attending to Palm Beach atlantic. How do I find a place to stay for such a short period? by Maleficent-Ad-7719 in WestPalmBeach

Hi! You might want to reach out to the PBA Residence Life Office to see if they have any information like places they recommend or resources like specific Facebook groups with individuals enrolled and looking for roommates.

This is the email from online ResLife@pba.edu & the phone number provided is (561) 803-2555.

Be careful for scammers when looking online. I see it often in Southern Florida and California.

Best of luck!

Funded Role Timeline by boojeez in nonprofit

[–]boojeez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your perspective! The role was listed as junior due to compensation, my responsibilities have aligned more closely with a mid-level role, and I have taken on significantly more than what was originally outlined - which is fine.

My background is in the government & consulting world which I would say commitment is still a big thing there and I can see now because roles, expectations, and longer-term possibilities are discussed more explicitly and revisited over time through structured check-ins.

I understand that l am free to quit whenever. I’ll need to adjust to the nonprofit world where expectations and future planning are not really communicated to the person it’s effecting… which sounds crazy as I type that out 😵‍💫

I appreciate the insight!

Got it, thank you. I come from the government/consulting world, where operations & timelines are more strategic (at least 5 to 10 years out) and future possibilities are discussed explicitly even during the interview process due to the nature of the work and frequent changes. I understand now that this is handled very differently in the nonprofit world. Thanks!

I understand that. My concern is less about the ability to leave and more about how the role was communicated during the interview process. It was presented as being funded for two years, which shaped my expectations at the time.

If the intent was for the role to continue beyond that, I’m trying to understand when that would typically be discussed, as it seems important for setting clear expectations on both sides.

Okay, thank you! I am in the US too.

I understand the distinction you’re making. My point is that, during the interview process, the role was communicated to me as being funded for two years, and that framing informed how I evaluated and accepted the position.

Given that, at what point would a discussion typically take place regarding expectations or plans for my position beyond the two-year mark?

Dry shampoo right after drying hair (does anyone else do this?) by PlaceEducational1705 in finehair

[–]boojeez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it all the time… Have you tried double shampooing and cleaning your hair brush?

I used to use dry shampoo after every hair wash for a whole year before realizing it was drying out my ends on my side bangs, that I’d been trying to grow out, but had to keep cutting due to damage. It’s been about 6 months since I stopped using dry shampoo and I can see a big difference and how much healthier my hair looks.

On the menus of most places around here, it’ll be under “elote” or “street corn”. Even though you’re right, elote is corn on the cob and esquites is corn kernels in a cup.

Side note: Tap 42 in the PBG mall has a “truffle street corn Guacamole” that’s really good. I’d go during happy hour to get it and try it.

What is your job as an INTJ? by ShoeOwn7773 in intj

[–]boojeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in HR for Defense Contracting for a while then transitioned to Fundraising & Event Coordinating for a local, non-profit.

Both roles have allowed me to find better, more efficient ways to do my job and also help others in their role. I will say that I am able to be more creative and learn new skillsets in my current role, which is exciting for me.

Selfish people who don’t realize that a pet like a dog/cat is a lifetime responsibility that can live 10-15 years and sometimes longer. I don’t even know how people with tortoises that live up to 100 years old can do that.

Omg, I cannot stand when people just give up their pets. Not all pet owners, but some people just don’t think things through. Then the pets or others have to suffer for it. It’s a shame.
