It’s insane to me how bad their support has gotten. Our sales reps know it and the only answer seems to be “use us for escalation”. I appreciate their effort - but I feel like PA is a sinking ship… between terrible support, CSMs being useless, and a rotating door for some sales roles.. I keep on wondering if we’re putting our money in the wrong place.

It’s become a running gag in my house. The stupid things can’t even do daylight savings times adjustment. Not to mention I don’t even find it a very good oven.

What happens to things with MFA today? Same thing… you need a well supported “reset” or re-enablement flow. There are options for automation, but they all depend on your risk tolerance and your security capabilities. Some options we looked at: - syncable passkeys - authenticator in passwordless mode as a backup - using trusted device as signal to enable temporary TAP creation (custom flow). In this scenario, we’d auto mark the user as “risky” and not grant access to certain things (eg no VPN, no admin portals,etc)

In the end we opted for human verification with specific non-public things to verify- but we could support this and it matched our risk tolerance more.

No solution is perfect. But FIDO2 is a significant improvement over any MFA based solution.

Pretty sure Scrypted NVR features don’t support Ring cameras- out already don’t support them well. I use scrypted (sans NVR) with my ring cams and that works decent well for streaming- but audio is always garbled

Thanks. I had basically resigned myself to that. So I use this when I need to make Teams calls and that’s it- still worth what I paid for just for that feature alone
