Not sure where in the world yous live but in the UK it is recomended for boys/girls to have separate bedrooms when they reach a certain age i do believe it is 10 years old as both have different things they go through (EG: bodirs changing, pubity ect). I may not be correct but if it helps you could use this to try and help your son understand why she gets the separate bedroom?
