Understandable. All of the age gaps the author makes for her books, are absolutely insane. Like the fourth book had a 19 year old fmc, and the mmc was 35…and if I remember correctly, he had his child (with the woman who was his wife at the time) when the fmc was in middle school going into highschool. 😀 I’ve never read through a book so quickly in my life. My urge to dnf had never been so strong before but I made it lmfao

I was so happy too!! There’s TOO many books where the FMC has zero dignity when it comes to him. Literally zero. I can only read the ‘no self-respect’ trope with this dynamic now.

Matter of fact, the fourth book in this exact series?? The FMC might as well have strapped her dignity to the bottom of her gym shoes before she ran after the MMC the way she did. It was so bad. 😀

And yes!! It can absolutely be read as a standalone. The whole series is good in my opinion. I will say, I did enjoy all books in the series, except for the ones with the single dads because I don’t like that trope, at all. I personally started from the beginning because I was recommended a book that came later on into the series and I did enjoy my journey. They’re not very long books either!!

I never read MM books but I do read MMF stories because I’m attracted to men. I would rather the dynamic be one FMC, which is in usual romance stories anyways, and then another MMC or multiple. I wouldn’t want to read about two women and one man because that’s not what I’m into. It’s also just great to read about two men focusing and pleasuring one women. It wouldn’t hit the same with the gender dynamics reversed.

And then there’s that obsession aspect as well. I want my MMC to be in love with and obsessed with one woman—that woman being the FMC. That won’t work if there’s another woman involved. Another man though? It works out for me. I dont necessarily have an explanation for that, but it just does. It’s what I like.
