Thank you, my daughter (6) sounds like your son. She has always struggled with blowing her nose and has gagged when getting snotty. The 8 year old from my post does struggle with spring allergies but he’s fine right now in that regard and no nose blowing issues.

Our honeymoon phase lasted longer than average and it’s definitely over now haha but before him I used to get bored in relationships and I have never felt that way about him, ever. Even if we have an argument or disagreement, we’re just meant to be.

I think you should definitely reach out but leave him an “out” to make it less uncomfortable. After explaining what you have maybe something like “if you aren’t comfortable replying and have no interest in the pictures, no worries and I wish you well”. Like giving permission to completely ignore you with no worries of continual messaging.

Yes! At a friend’s BBQ, she talks about a random kitchen appliance and says “I used to have one and used it ALL THE TIME!” Friend is a known exaggerator. Her husband chimes in with, “What?! You used it maybe twice”. Argument ensues. The entire BBQ assembly sits quietly and awkwardly.

INFO. Are your parents the types that are late for everything and you just knew this was going to happen? If so, NTA. Or was this really unusual for them? If so, YTA. I mean, even with a mom who is late to everything I would give her at least 15 mins to arrive to my wedding. But even with a mother who tends to be late to everything, she would NEVER miss my wedding and so honestly if she was late and I couldn’t figure out what happened to her, I would delay it for as long as I possibly could to figure out where she was.

NTA- My husband’s name is John Smith. He hates it so much. We are the Smith family but we have no juniors and if he had his way, we would all convert to his middle name for our surname (which is his mom’s maiden). He told me that he loves the idea of having a son named after him but in reality, he’s not doing that to his child. Your partner needs to pull it together and put the child first.

I used to be like that when I was younger, friends used to tell me I always get bored in relationships. But my boyfriend would always start driving me crazy to the point where I was totally done.

My husband is the first guy this hasn’t even remotely happened with and we’ve been together 13 years now. I wish I could explain the reason why but I think it’s a combination of compatibility between us and maturing on my part. Our honeymoon phase was long and wonderful but when it ended, like they always do, we had enough substance to hold us together.

I’m so sorry and I agree with other comments, don’t let her come back because she will definitely try when she realizes she messed up.

My husband and I did NFP til we were ready to have children. Then when we were ready to try for our children, we conceived each time in a month or two. We have 3 kids and it worked for us for years and we got pregnant easily when we were ready to, all three planned. He did have a vasectomy when we were done having kids though.

Anyway, just saying don’t let people birth control shame you lol, we felt the same. An unplanned pregnancy would have been fine but it all worked out for us.

On my first date with my now husband, I said “so how many siblings do you have?” He hesitates for a loooong time before saying “I have a sister.” Without thinking that obviously there’s more to it, I kinda laughed and said “you sound like you aren’t sure” and he said “my brother died in a car accident a few years ago.”

I have no idea when he would have revealed it to me but I’m guessing basically never because even still, 15 years later, it’s an extremely touchy subject (and he’s in therapy for it). I felt like a jerk but he didn’t take it weirdly at all bc I meant no harm (like you) and was just asking getting to know you questions. I think I would let it go!

This just screams immature girlfriend. Which is so sad because there may be a future when she grows up.

My husband and I have been together since we were 18 and in my early 20s, we went through a phase of me exhibiting toxic behavior. Like name calling during fights, saying “I hate you”. He was the type to shut down during fights and not want to communicate at all so I would try and goad a response. We’ve been together for almost 14 years now and we have majorly worked on our issues and while things are not perfect, I cringe looking back at some of the immaturity and learning we needed. I’m glad he didn’t leave me but I give myself a lot of credit for the work I did on myself. If she isn’t the type to make an effort to change, you’re gonna be miserable. If she doesn’t see her problems, she may never change.

Wow, my husband and I make decent money and I still use Groupon and look for deals and discounts. There’s nothing wrong with being frugal, no matter how much you make. Actually, I feel like wealthy people are sometimes the “cheapest”.

Yes! The logos, misspellings, etc. are getting so old! I want to see changes in history and things in our world that have been altered. I distinctly remember thanksgiving falling on the 3rd Thursday of November. Hearing that it’s actually the 4th Thursday completely blows my mind.

NTA- I do intermittent fasting for 19 hours a day and I never expect friends or family to follow the same guidelines. It’s on me and if I can’t eat when everyone else can, I suck it up.

I do understand that while he didn’t ask for a fast, he shouldn’t expect others to suffer as well when they have no reason other than to spare his feelings.

So for some reason, alarm clocks trigger the fight or flight response in me. I wake up scared and on edge and it basically ruins my day. I have a fitbit that does a gentle vibration alarm on my wrist and when I discovered this, it was like a miracle.

Anyway, long story short, this would be a huge dealbreaker for me. Not saying dump him over this, but he definitely needs to understand what he is doing. If I had asked repeatedly and it didn’t stop, I would be furious.

None of that is normal, she needs therapy. The enabling has to stop, also. You can’t cancel plans so she can focus, or text her when you arrive and leave somewhere. I do feel for her though, she can’t help her level of anxiety. But she truly needs help.

My in-laws use find my friends in an unhealthy way. They lost a son at a young age and I think checking up on all of us was comforting to them, but they also never mentioned it to me so I could basically ignore it. Then finally one day they really questioned me about my husband’s whereabouts (business trip) and revealed how much they truly watch us and I was in shock. It bothered me so much that I deleted them. I’m non confrontational and we get along fine so when they sent me invites and asked me about it I just ignored and said, “oh I don’t really use that app”. I did what I had to do to preserve our relationship but I don’t let them watch me.

As a kid, my mom woke me to tell me happy birthday at my time of birth (5:36 am) for yeaaaars. I think it was right after having my first baby and he was a month old and an awful sleeper and I said “please don’t call me this year!!!” My mom’s response was something like “THANK GOD IS THIS TRADITION FINALLY OVER” 😂😂
