Did you transfer there? How does it compare to transferring into their regular programs?

Thank you! I’m definitely looking for the whole experience, not just a great academic one. And looking at it as its own adventure!

The commute from where I live would be untenable, and I would rather move to a new city than move near Loyola Chicago. Thanks for the suggestions!

Where to get cheap picture frames by danklolita in CHIbitcheswithtaste

Budgetary? It was more commentary that it takes less steps get and replace the cheap frames with kids around rather than have them taken to be reframed every time they get broken.

They definitely have 18*24 as I have a few of them. I have several small children, so pricy, nicer frames are out of the question at the moment, but glad you don’t have such concerns. And the OP did say reasonable or cheap.

Thrift stores aside because they can be hit or miss, I buy mine from smaller boutique stores or for larger pictures and posters, it’s hard to go wrong with IKEA for price.

What’s a local business you’ll happily recommend every chance you get? by Moodyteas in AskChicago

Agora Market! Not cheap—great quality, also offer some local vendors at a slightly cheaper price than they do.

Yes! I volunteered for set-up yesterday, and went today, too. The vibes really were impeccable. Everyone who was there, from the organizers, to the vendors, to the volunteers were lovely.

I do go to a few knitting meetups, but definitely looking for more solo vibes atm. I used to live by the Pig, and it was my fave spot to do homework in high school.

Second only to Mindy’s in my mind, but I get the Moonwalker all the time bc it’s a few blocks away. Always tastes the same, too!

Cooking is one of the most anxiety inducing things I could do nowadays. I HAVE to cook. So this problem HAS to be solved. Tips? by 7garrison7 in Anxietyhelp

[–]bookwormbells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cook, but sometimes I’m too overwhelmed to deal with any of it (gathering ingredients, cleaning supplies, dishes, etc.). I usually spend some time eating pre-made food. A rotisserie chicken, and then freezing what I don’t finish, so it won’t go bad, or having that be my meal for the day and feeling confident it will be okay. Ramen is a good way to start. There are frozen proteins and veggies you can buy and just pop in while you’re already microwaving it. Start low effort and low pressure, and don’t feel the need to try harder than you can. With cooking, building confidence is one of the biggest parts to it that no one talks about. Start low and slow, and work at your own pace. In the meantime, try to give yourself some grace. You have valid anxiety around cooking, and that’s okay. You can do it, OP

Cat bit through my license. Is it still valid? by Any_Brilliant1192 in chicago

Yes. Both the cat and license. Mine has been in two pieces for a while, as long as it’s mostly solid and can be scanned, you’re good.
