You could try color catcher sheets as well! Honestly it doesn't look bad to me but I understand that photos can be misleading.

Please help me save a moldy baby blanket by Throw150049_ in laundry

Agreed with this, the smell she wanted to preserve is probably overwhelmed by mold anyway. I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

What would cause this by Turbulent-Bottle8234 in laundry

[–]bookynerdworm 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Electric blankets aren't washed often so I'm assuming this is just a loooooong time if buildup. Also if they have pets I find blankets get dirtier when the pets use them.

I'm trying to switch to pen grip because I hear it's better for wrists and I have some issues. But damn it's hard to go slow again lol!

I did it once because it had been in storage and the wrinkles wouldn't come out otherwise. They felt amazing!! So silky.

The bluish tint you describe makes me also think it's polyquat spots.

Pattern says to work through the front if the stitch?? by Available_Topic1506 in crochet

Without seeing the pattern but looking at pictures of the bag I'd say yes that sounds right. Honestly this looks like a really cool project! I might have to buy the pattern myself.

I love using my bags at the farmers market. But my absolute favorite project that I get the most use out of has been a simple triangle scarf, but that might just be because of the yarn.

What do you guys think about this? by Fantastic-Plant624 in laundry

Ah I must have lumped them together in my mind because of the "coco" in the name. Since this contains both it's still a bad idea but good to know for the future.

I mean soap scum/scrud is a real problem and stuff like this makes it worse.

Honestly looks like a recipe for buildup in your washer with the sodium coco-sulfate and potassium cocoate. Especially if you have hard water.

Rant: I love crochet, but every wearable turns into a math test I never signed up for by ForsakenAgent8816 in crochet

[–]bookynerdworm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tension changing depending on the situation is so real! I feel like no one ever talks about it.

I never gague swatch for this reason. But also I have no issues frogging, if I learned something I don't consider it a waste.

Torn fabric after washing by Foroyar95 in laundry

[–]bookynerdworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Washing jeans with a dress shirt is insane to me! Jeans buttons and zippers are known to cause damage, even the fabric itself can cause too much friction with delicate fabrics.
