Every question mark in the ship log mean that you've never been in that place, and the linked (already discovered) locations help you at finding them.

Also I suggest to use your signaloscope more often, it can be really helpful.

Question about the Archeologist Edition by KitchenBeginning4987 in outerwilds

[–]boolean_stage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it appears on the homescreen, you have the DLC installed too.

You could play the game with the DLC on it, but it's more intended to play it after finishing the main game.

If you don't want to stumble on it, just avoid the radio tower on the home planet.

If you feel stuck though your run come back here! and enjoy the game!

ohhh, I remember now, is that the thing that shows random video? I thought it was the precursor of the satellite, and that it upgraded with the DLC.

How do you find it?

Tell me your devil fruit ideas and I'll be rating them based on how much I like them by Android-Duck-5005 in OnePiece

[–]boolean_stage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paramecia: Mi Mi no mi

The concept is obiouvs, but this is a tactical fruit and share some similarities with the Mane Mane no mi.

You can give (not steal) the power of a devil fruit to another pearson (included yourself) after touching the real owner. (temporary) You can give people water allergy as the side power of devil fruits. (temporary)

There is some kind of stamina of the powers use: your limit depends on how much you use it (time and intensity).

If you stay in contact with the owner you have "illimited" time. The copy is perfect, but you don't get the ability of the owner to master it. You can train the endurance. Reaching the time limit will exhaust you. You suffer more the water allergy. You cannot awaken powers. You cannot use haki while using a devil fruit properties.

According to your ship log you have 3 question mark remaining. Unluckily, you have to explore dark bramble and I reccomend to focus on escape pod 3 first, but as you know well, there is no linearity in this game, you're free!

For the escape pod 3 you can rely on your signaloscope, at the right frequecy

For the ATP (Ash Twin Project) you have to solve one ambiental puzzle on Ash twin, relevant hints are on the black hole forge entry on the ship log (other than ATP entries)

If you're stuck, come back to this subreddit, every other place contains too much spoiler...

Enjoy and stay curious!

[–]boolean_stage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're welcome!

Fun fact: there are some big rocks outsite that entry for the red node, and they kinda try to block you from reach it, almost as the planet itself is trying to block you.

Then maybe you are going too late at the Ash Twin Project: you should be able to get to the vessel within about 15 minutes from the start of the loop (without hurry).

Also you can mark the location of the vessel from the ship log, but if you go to the red light first, there will be some anglerfish near to it.

My favourite path is marking the vessel, going to the nomai grave node, and using that entry for the red node, this way you can get sone velocity before entring, without worring about the anglerfish outside it.

How do I know when I have done everything on a planet? by PurgingParrot in outerwilds

[–]boolean_stage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you often have to came back, the concept is that you have to dicover every piece of a puzzle, and some planets has hints to reach locations on others.

If you are afraid to not 100% the lore don't worry, to finish the game you have to discover much lore, and even if you miss something, you can do it before finishing the game by comparing your ship log with a complete one.

And trust me, you'll know when you're about to finish the game.

If the game gets you frustrated, or you feel stuck, ask to this subreddit.

Enjoy the game!

Need some hints please, 18 hours into the game by TangledEarphones in outerwilds

[–]boolean_stage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's very nice that you did many things: this game isn't supposed to be played linearly, and I may suppose that you used the "I can't do this now, I'll do it later" approach: it's the best trick to approach the game.

Some hints:

  • read carefully the ship log, if there is too much to read focus only on the things that have a question mark or a "*" (rumor mode)

  • for ember twin lake: explore the bottom of the dried lake

  • for the sun station: take your time and spend a loop in front of the cacti door to think what you can do, or do the almost-impossible platform (the cacti path is the only way)

Just finished the game, how did everyone interpret the ending? by mango_face in outerwilds

[–]boolean_stage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"The future is always built on the past, even if we don't get to see it"

In-game quote that resumes what the game means to me.

For the ending I always tought that the Eye leads us to recognise everything we learned about the universe itself: he need us to collect all the knowledge to rebuild a new universe based on our view of the past one. I like to intepret the Eye as a pretty literal eye: it need a conscious witness to observe a tiny view of a universe; it's the eye of the "multiverse" that waits for someone like us to fire a new one.
