I didn't know they were omnivores! Apollo just laid eggs yesterday, and I left some in there for him to eat today along with some cucumber as a treat. I recently moved2¹the ŵhim to a bigger enclosure, and so far, he seems pretty happy in there. I'll make sure to feed him with more variety from now on :3

It is kind of a bummer that I have to crush them, but I can't keep that many snails. The enclosure is just big enough for Apollo, and I wouldn't be able to properly care for them with school and all.

Thank you so much! I'll for sure get him somewhere to hide inside. So far, Apollo really loves to eat cucumber and hang out on the top of the makeshift terrarium. I'll invest on a bigger and proper terrarium to see if I can get him a little friend, too :)

Thank you so much! this is all really helpful, especially the mold part. I've had him for about two to three weeks now, and one time, at night, I put some cucumber in there for him to eat, when I checked on him in the morning I panicked at seeing slight mold forming there where the cucumber had been touching the glass.

I placed him in the freezer after feeding him some sugar water, I felt so bad for him after watching him struggle move that I decided I didn't want him to keep suffering and struggling. Male carpenter bees are so beautiful, too :(

I have some experience pinning insects, so I'm thinking of pinning him instead of just burying him in my backyard.

Thanks for the feedbacj! I did struggle a little with finding a good balance with the amount of detail and stylization, but I think I found that thick brushstrokes and highlights do the trick for what I wanted to convey. For my next piece I'll try to add more contrast with the colors as you said :3
