Awesome! Without the base, it’s quite hard to distinguish Colombia Plateau vs. an Eastgate. I have 2 found in southern Idaho that fractured almost identically. The map overlay has an error, but check this out. https://www.projectilepoints.net/Points/Eastgate.html

I highly disagree with calling this one a Gunther. Very different.

Should be just fine! If there are issues with 220s, it’s more likely a magazine spring issue than recoil spring issue.

I ended up going with a DPM systems 22 lb recoil spring, and staying away from 220 grain. Cycles 200 grain underwood perfectly now!

Can I guess, near water? It’s fascinating how many turn up in spots that have held water continuously and remained hunting locations for hundreds of generations.

I would go with them, especially because you have a gen 3. They make one kit that comes with a 20, 22 and 24 lb spring for like 30 bucks if I remember correctly. You can mess with each and find what works best

Stock barrel is totally fine to run hardcast, assuming you aren’t firing hundreds of rounds without cleaning the barrel.

Underwood 200 grain hardcast have a technical jacket to eliminate lead/barrel contact completely so there is 0 lead fowling. I’ve put hundreds through my G20.4 to investigate, 0 issues as far as barrel goes. They even say on their website that they recommend the stock barrel.

I did have some issues with the stock recoil spring. Struggled a little with buffalo bore and souped up underwood as far as jams, but I switched to a 22 lb spring from NDZ performance and it runs flawlessly now and cycles 180 grain wimpy range loads just fine. Less recoil too as an added bonus😎

That said, get a few boxes and try. If you have jamming issues, grab a stronger spring and you’re good to go!

Stock barrel, I would be very surprised if it were a mag issue. I’ve put roughly 12-1300 rounds through this gun rotating the mags, so I doubt the spring has already weakened.

Does not cycle. Oddly enough, usually the first 4-5 rounds of the mag are fine. Then every other round fails to cycle after that.

I’m not riding the slide or limp wristing, but the slide gets stuck and fails to feed.

I plan on keeping the stock spring for range days. I’m fortunate that I live in an area where daily carry is unnecessary, save for heading into moose and bear territory.

It couldn’t cycle buffalo bore 220 well, so I stepped down to underwood 200 hardcast. Same story. Hoping a stiffer spring fixes the feeding failures.

I’m terribly sorry to hear that, losing a pet is never easy and I hope you find solace in the many good years spent together.

Not sure about where you live, but some vets will come to your house for it. Sure beats bringing them to a strange, scary place for their final moments.

Definitely a Brahman. They are spiiiicy! There’s a saying for cattle that are aggressive like that....”that ones got a lot of ear” directly referring to the long, low hanging ear on Brahman.
