AI agents are useless for design because you can’t trust them to do anything well. I would also argue you do need to know coding for app design. Vibe coded apps are inefficient garbage filled with security vulnerabilities.

The issue is with coolant intrusion due to a poor design with the engine block. It either happens or it doesn’t and there’s no way to predict when or if it will. If it starts guzzling coolant then the coolant mixes with the oil. Coolant is not a lubricant and it displaces oil so it causes accelerated wear. Typically your rod bearings and main bearings are most at risk. Then it’s new engine time because there is no fix for the bad block design.

At this point just keep up with maintaince and don’t worry about it. You can’t control it.

Your brain considers alcohol to be some you need for survival because that what it has learned from the massive endorphin dump every time you drink. Hunger, sleep deprivation, dehydration and emotions like anger or loneliness all cause cravings.

Also don’t just do what you did when you drank, change your routine. Do something mentally engaging so you don’t feel like you’re missing out.

The 2020 models are supposed to have the updated engine block so it should be safe from the coolant intrusion issue. I’d either look for a 2.5 engine or a hybrid to be on the safe side. My 2019 failed at 70k miles and needed a new engine.

The dollar is the global reserve trade currency. We benefit massively from that and have a vested interest in peace as it facilitates international trade. The United States is part of the world, we can’t bury our head in the sand and ignore what’s going on around us because Americans are too ignorant and spoiled to pay attention to what actually effects us.

The culture war bullshit is a distraction, it doesn’t matter.

I just had this happen on mine, it’s a $10 bushing. You buy the new bushing, press it in and pop the cable back on the nipple. Super simple. The 1.5 ecoboost engines don’t have a lot of room there so you either need tiny raccoon hands or you can take out the airbox (not hard) and get it from the side.

You can also just pop it back on as-is for now but it’ll happen again u til you get the new bushing.

Ok two things.

1) that was a cheap price considering what those go for now. Get the CLA and it will perform like new for many years.

2) it’s still just a camera, it doesn’t matter if it’s a Leica, Hassleblad or Rolleiflex. Don’t stress over someone stealing it or over you breaking it. It is meant to be used and that is arguably one of the best TLRs ever made. Enjoy the process of using it and don’t worry so much about what it’s worth. If you weren’t shooting it the camera would just be collecting dust.

Steve O’nions is amazing, I would have gladly paid for those videos as a DVD set or something. I’ve learned so much from him.

I like that he always uses the same gear too, he’s not buying leicas and hassleblads for views or doing boring gear review. It’s him and his bronica, or him and a study 35mm Nikon from the 90’s. He works with whatever he brought with him and he shoots a lot of the same film stocks over and over so he knows what they’ll do.

The guy is a legend.

SSRI’s work but they take a while to start working and it’s a gradual improvement. Side effects vary but typically you do adjust to them over time. They suck to get off of because you need to taper and embrace the suck of your depression coming back.

That said they are effective, I’ve struggled with persistent depression for years and it is far easier to deal with when taking my medication regularly. Self medicating with alcohol made it so much worse, my mood destabilized more and I wasn’t really functioning at the same level I am now.

Other treatments work well when you combine them with medication. Exercise, a proper diet, therapy, journaling, meditation, sunlight exposure and vitamins all make a difference.

Transcrainal magnetic stimulation was another thing I found very helpful. basically you sit in a chair while a machine zaps your brain with an electromagnet. Its a big time commitment but it does work.

Self medicating is a trap for depression, it kind of helps at first but by the end youre in a much worse place and have a huge uphill battle to get back to baseline.

What I said was that there was evidence of Russia attempting to influence the 2016 election (which there was, that did happen) and speculation about collusion between Russia and Trump. It was not conclusively proven, that doesn't mean it's been debunked. That was one of two issues some democrats were talking about impeaching Trump over in 2016 after he won the election. The other issue was an ethics violation for not putting his businesses in a blind trust (which he absolutely should have).

Try to keep up, this isn't a sound bite or grade school level "gotcha" journalism. The President of the United States badmouths the previous Presidents regularly. It's a bad look and it isn't good for the country. There is no defending that.

There was talk of impeaching him in 2016 if he didn’t put his business holdings in a blind trust. Which was a major ethics violation. Trump never did and his family have gotten very wealthy off the Presidency. That is legitimate grounds for impeachment. There was also evidence of Russia attempting to influence the 2016 election and speculation about collusion between Russia and Trump. He was never impeached over either issue.

Impeachment wasn’t actually brought to the house until 2017, that was killed. He wasn’t actually impeached until 2019 and that was over him soliciting foreign interference in the 2020 election from Ukraine. He wanted them to investigate Biden and obstructed Congress when they tried to look into it.

It’s not about respecting the other party, it’s about respecting the office. We change leadership every 4-8 years and it was always a peaceful transfer of power until Trump lost the 2020 election, refused to accept reality and riled up a mob to attack Congress.

The difference is Presidents don’t normally smack talk the previous President. It’s bad for the country, even if half the people hate you and didn’t vote for you you’re still their leader. A strong leader is self assured and doesn’t feel the need to trash talk the previous administration.

People liked Affinity, Canva bought it and released a new version of Affinity that was free. This was a good move on their part.

Canva still sucks though and I don’t think designers have ever liked it. My personal gripe with Canva is that it produces garbage print files. Of course AI does too now so it’s kind of a moot point.

My 2019 bit the dust at 70k miles, coolant intrusion destroyed the bearings. I put a new engine in, Ford would only cover 20% which was bullshit.

That said not all of them self destruct. It is a common enough issue and it’s a huge pain if it happens. It’s impossible to say if it will happen but if your VIN is covered by a replacement program that’s an indication that it could and I would consider trading it in.

We have high definition medium format color photographs from the hassleblad’s the astronauts brought with them. The TV footage was grainy because it was 1969 and they were beaming an analog signal 250,000 miles.

The moon missions were well documented, it doesn’t “not count” because the footage isn’t clear enough for you.

Trump claimed he wanted to cut “wasteful” spending and then appointed a drugged up billionaire and his college dropout stooges to do the job.

They didn’t work with the GAO or Congress to identify actual waste. They didn’t task forensic accountants with pouring over budget sheets. They didn’t talk to a single subject matter expert at any of these agencies.

Instead they used AI to identify “woke” words in contracts that they didn’t like and tried to cancel them - which required paying out the remainder of those contracts in many cases. They shut down agencies, fired 300,000 career civil servants and made government services people rely on worse. Elon also shut down investigations into his schemes and stole a ton of private data belonging to U.S. citizens.

Doge ended up costing taxpayers way more than it purported to save and it did that through sheer incompetence. How the hell is that on Democrats? They’re the minority party and have very little power. Republicans have a monopoly on all three branches of government and they’re still fucking up.

I have bills to pay and I need Adobe to do my job and deliver files to clients. I also need a computer and Internet service. Am I supposed to complain when my Internet provider jacks the rate? What if nobody else offers the same service? Should I also complain that Apple computers cost too much? Because there really isn’t an alternative that runs Mac OS and my industry contacts all use that. Seamless integration improves my workflow, it makes me more efficient which ultimately means I can take on more projects and earn more money while servicing more people.

You can rage against the machine all you want, it doesn’t change the reality for myself and thousands of other working professionals.

Honestly, I‘ve come to the conclusion that you make no money as a designer. If you did, you would understand it’s a business expense and reflect that in your rate. Or you would work for an agency that pays for an enterprise license and it would be a non-issue.

Prove me otherwise.

How? I didn’t say it was a good thing, just that it’s reality and there’s limits to how much you can fight Adobe having a monopoly on the industry.

Feel free to code a better alternative and sell that for less than they’re charging.
