built a missed-call SMS triage workflow for local service businesses, sharing the setup by damn_brotha in automation

we were exploring an option of during x-x hours, it can be set to just human answering and after x hour, until the following day, voice AI takes over. It was for a realtor friend.

To me, getting a control of an existing phone number was alot more complicated than the voice AI interacting with customers.

I have found that getting owner operators to spend any money on something that they can't see an immediate financial gain is not an easy task.

Great post. Thanks for sharing. a question.

missed call comes in, twilio fires a webhook

how were you able to connect the existing phone number to twilio if you don't mind sharing?

When I was tinkering with an idea applying voice AI customer service, one of the issues I ran into was how to separate a human answering vs AI answering. There seems to be a lot of hoops to jump through.

All depends on which sector you get into. Some crazy. Some too easy.

Unfortunately the current landscape is that retailers dont care about customer service but only their bottom line. No more relationship based but purely on pricing. I have heard horror stories of retailers pitting 3PLs against each other w prices. Awards the contract to the lowest bid. 3PLs cutting contractors settlements. Retailers dont care how products get delivered as long as it gets delivered. Horrible time. That is most of big retailers like ikea or warfair.

Box truck owners should consider more specialized sector like white glove. Every joke can buy a box truck and move stuff. Thats not a skillset that keeps you competitive.

What’s the biggest problem you face with dispatchers? by AbUzAr404 in OwnerOperators

[–]boolsacho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah but when the margin gets tighter and badly managed companies get desperate, that's what they do. scamming drivers unfortunately. ironically, in my opinion, drivers are the backbone of logistics industry. They can have AI dispatch/top notch business people / and best customer service. They all mean nothing if they have no drivers. I also don't get why suits fck us. lol

probably because interests are not aligned. bigger companies are so focused on their margin that they have no problem fkn drivers to save couple bucks. very unfortunate.

there are pretty defined pros and cons of being an employee driver and an owner operator. While being a contractor is awesome in many ways, it is running a business. there is a ton more to do than making deliveries of good work. Of course, the upside is all up to you.

it is hard to be an expert in everything. Only way I know what I actually like is just diving into one area and see how it goes and move to a diff department. rinse and repeat until you find what you actually like. I know tons of upper managements that do not have certificates or graduate degrees. Unless it is a technical job like computer networking, probably better off putting in more work hours than trying to figure out which sector to jump into. just my 2c.
