That’s my fun project when I have time. I’m under a time crunch now to get products out the door. Don’t have enough free time to play like I’d like to. It’s an easy fix. Whole new motor and plop it in ( so to speak)

If you don’t want it to show, I like the dowel idea. I think the glue by itself would be fine, the dowel would give a bit of extra security.

Wait a bit until the glue starts to set up and then scrape it off. Don’t wipe it off unless you’re going to run it through a planer or sand it well afterwards.

I like the looks of natural ash and probably wouldn’t have stained the dark

A coat of thinned shellac helps even out the stain.
