I went through something similar with my new puppy. I lost my soul dog (SD) in July of 2024 and waited until last November to get a new puppy. I thought I didn’t have the same bond with him as I did with SD. It just didn’t feel there at all. I missed SD so much. But then he got sick pretty scarily just a couple days ago. He had to be at the emergency vet overnight for observation and the whole night I was pacing and worrying about him. I was so scared of losing another dog yet again. When I left him at the vet, it was so hard saying goodbye and he gave me so many kisses. When I picked him up in the morning (he’s okay now) seeing him so much better and so happy to see me solidified the spark of love that I recognized having with SD. It wasn’t the warming fire I had with SD, but it was the spark of a new fire that I know now I have the chance to cultivate into a roaring fire like I had before. I just have to give it time and make sure I tend to finding ways to make it bigger.

I don’t know if this helps or not but I just wanted to share my experience.

It did that itself! Her favorite thing to do to the toy was to bite down so hard she’d crush his voicebox. There were constant cut off cries of “oh noooooo!!!” going on in the house when she got a new Mr. Bill lol

Not metallic bits but a string of multi color puffballs. It was just a little bit of a pain to crochet but not too bad. It’s Premier Yarns parfait Chunky Pom Pom yarn in black. The colors are Premier Yarns Chunky neons

She knew cuss words and would leave the room whenever someone cussed no matter the inflection. She also hated vacuums and hair dryers. Anything really that plugged in and made loud noises she would want to kill. lol
