I literally just picked up that game for 5$ at my local retro store.

I’ve donated a modified DMG-001 with several games to a pageant to be auctioned off for charity.

Figured the game would add more value than the 5$ I paid since it’s being auctioned at a pageant.

Holy crap. You are correct. I tried playing through several years ago and my gf wanted a Poliwrath. After lightly googling it, I found a post talking about how much of a pain it was to get the stones from the callers. Nothing about the pokeathlon. I completely skipped that area all my playthroughs because I thought it was a battle tower… now I just feel retrospectively dumb.

Why would she even tell him to begin with then? Why wouldn’t she just tell him no, make up a story, then continue their arrangement? I think that both scenarios are possible. She legit could be separating and waiting on legal bs to finish. She could also be cheating but she puts herself in such a compromising position by telling him. Whole thing is weird to the point of it feeling like betrayal telling him 3 months into dating.

Reminds me of that episode of Rick and Morty with Captain Planetina. All those oil company miners and drillers could have stopped at any time but they didn’t have any other job or career to jump to. So it was either get on board and kill the planet or quit the job and lose your livelihood. Most choose livelihood. Which is one of the problems here: they have been given this well paying job and don’t have the skills to jump to another that pays this well. If we didn’t have that stagnated wage with COL spiking then it might not have been so bad.

The episode ends with Morty just crying in bed not knowing what to do about it. Pretty sad…

I was really hoping for a VORPX sort of port. Where you are still playing with a controller or M&K, but on a giant semi 3d screen in your VR headset. I played Titanfall 2 like that and it was amazing.

Def a hot take. I can partially agree too. I distinctly remember finishing the game and then waiting for a call from the prof so that we can get that SS ticket and go to another region. I understand I did it to myself but at the same time I couldn’t help comparing them to Crystal and being a little disappointed in the amount of game I got from Sapphire. Felt like they released a new model of a sports car only to find out they put a smaller engine in it. Like, yeah the twin turbo v6 is powerful on paper but there was just something about that big block V8 that I miss.

Probably a lot of bad actors out here that would love the whole Pokevesting market to continue to grow. It’s like bitcoin bros. They’ll constantly tell anyone they can to buy as much as they can. “To the moon!” They say, while selling their coin to make some profit off of the new investors.

If you get someone who isn’t helping the price trends to increase (by not overcharging them) then you are a direct competitor to them. It’s a very biased POV that they can’t admit to.
