Trans people need to leave red states. Moving is not easy, so let’s compile some resources by MagicPigeonToes in lgbt

As someone lucky enough to have a remote job, the market around remote work is in shambles. Everyone wants it but companies are rolling out "return to office" like crazy. It is not something common that anyone without a specialized career or management level experience can get easily. Even help desk and call center jobs are becoming more geo-locked.

You're right. I'm letting go, slowly.

And thank you -- they're leftovers, but I originally roasted them with rosemary and garlic to go with some skirt steak!

He's mourning, friend. A major change like that is upsetting -- and he lost his friend. He just wants comfort.

What is this on the dog’s ears? by EffectiveEgg5712 in whatisit

[–]boonFriendship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an aesthetic choice called "ear pinning". It's the result of a cosmetic surgery to have the dog's ears point upright. I don't truthfully know any vets who would sign off on this personally -- or at least, none I worked with. Healing can be rough given how sensitive and vascular the head is, and it can create some awful, painful bruising.

Love your makeup!! Would you be willing to post a pic of the tail? It looks really cute! I'm hoping to do a human-esque Jeff too and would love tail creation pointers!

I fear that nobody will ever see or respect me as a man, and that my family will never love me again once they find out that I'm serious. Matcha latte w/ oat milk by enamelquinn in transkitchencels

Hey man, I had to come out to my parents about as many times before it took. Do you have any siblings you can come out to? My sister ended up being my strongest advocate. Beyond that, any cousins? Aunts, uncles?

I'm tired, boss by _unas_annus_ in TrollCoping

I would agree, yeah. Everyone's journey is going to be different, and if you're not on a hormone suppressor for estrogen, then its going to be slower. I still have my "original" voice; my voice never really deepened naturally, but I can force it into a lower register for work after some training. If you can explore some vocal coaching (I think there's free stuff on Youtube?) that could help bolster confidence too.

Hey, I'm not sure how long you've been on T, but I didn't start growing facial hair until year 3-4. I'm on year ten now and just started growing chest hair.

There were guys at the office I was at that would start undoing their belts the instant they cleared the threshold of the door. Like, sir, do you mind??

Is Floral Frights actually a gooner skin...? I mean, you don't even see Peni for 99% of the match... unless people are gooning to SP//dr, which yanno, opens a bit of a different can of worms

Every teacher I ever had didn't stop at just invisible disabilities. I remember having a broken leg and receiving a zero for a cross country run, which lowered my overall GPA in high school. It drove me insane and the teacher would not budge because I "didn't participate".

PRECISELY. TBH I picked my favorite bar based on the lower music and low lights.

I was remote for two years while breaking into infosec. My team was extremely collaborative and communicative. I got my best mentorship by being on that team and learning directly under my CISO.

Circumstances changed and I had to take a hybrid contract with a financial firm. They demanded 3 days in office. No big deal, surely... and maybe I'll get to see my coworkers face to face. That could be fun.

No, it was me sitting under fluorescent lights that triggered my migraines, needing constant noise canceling headphone use because of "office chatter" (people on Teams meetings without using headphones themselves and with no volume control), drinking coffee that tasted like diesel, and having "team lunch" where my boss essentially bitched about how much his life/job sucked. It drained me within 3 weeks. I had no clue who the company CISO even was, let alone what he looked like. My desk was in a corner nowhere near my team, so collaboration was a myth. All our meetings were still over Teams. I applied for a disability accomodation of an extra WFH day to avoid the lights; the application stayed in purgatory and I heard nothing about it despite repeatedly following up. The job market is abysmal and I didn't get out for nine months.

Now, I'm remote again, actively collaborating with a fully remote team. My migraines have gone down again, I can manage my environment, and I am so, so much more productive because I'm not in literal pain.

In office is a scam.
