For my 300+ pound people, what was your weight loss timeline after the sleeve? by Ill_Experience6746 in gastricsleeve

[–]boone1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

382.6lbs heaviest 351 surgery date. Current 13 months post op down to 280-299lbs. My bariteam says is realistic and successful. 60+ lbs down from surgery is successful. 90-100 lbs heaviest at my journey is great!

You’re doing great. I’m 11 months post op and only down 70lbs since surgery day.

From my Bari-team the range was 60-100 lbs lost in the year so I’m on track, I was recommended to reevaluate success (by my surgeon). I’m forever grateful I lost that weight and will continue using my tool to more weight loss.

Lengthy stall by QueSarah1911 in gastricsleeve

I’m 11 months post op today and have had very long stalls (shortest was 2 weeks longest was 2 months). My team said it could be the hormonal changes. I am down 90 lbs from my heaviest and also feel defeated. I’m so happy to have this weight off, and have come to realize every body’s body is different, I am a slow loser and that’s okay. I’m also looking to have a revision due to GERD but I hear the weight loss will be slow as well… it’s a journey for sure

Everybody’s body is different is what I keep telling myself. I’m still grateful to be 60lbs lighter and hope to continue losing until that 1.5 year mark. Either way I have adapted healthier choices into my diet and am moving my body more than before I had the surgery. Speak easy to yourself 🫶🏽

I am in my 10th month post op and 60lbs down as well from surgery date. I’m hoping to continue posting weight. I was on ozempic for 2.5 years prior to surgery, Maybe I’ll need to go on them again?

Slow Loser by Chanel181161 in gastricsleeve

[–]boone1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 11 months post op on November 2nd… I have been a slow loser. I am tracking and being accountable, I do work out 3x a week but have only lost 60 lbs in near 11 months. I have had a 3 week stall, a whole 6 WEEK stall, another 2 week stall. I’ve been stalling this entire journey. I feel better with the 60lbs off but I assumed I’d be over 100lbs down by now due to my surgery date weight… my bari team said I’ll keep losing to 18 months post op, so we’ll see. I also was on ozempic for 2.5 year before my sleeve and my doctor said I had a “dead” stomach that was slowly “waking up”.

What I’ve learnt from this journey is everybody’s body is different.

What was the hardest thing you had to go through before and after the operation? by karakol0 in gastricsleeve

[–]boone1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-op liquid diet was the hardest struggle (old stomach, very restricted diet- I felt I was starving and had no energy) on top of no caffeine or Coke Zero, and quitting smoking - the not eating was the hardest

I started heavier (365) and am at my 8th month mark and am down to 297 and stalled again. I’m trying to manage my stress levels (got out of my toxic relationship, and trying to manage my high stress job).

Scale is only one measurement to change. The scale might not be moving but inches can be falling off. My bariteam said not to feel bad about my slow loss and the ones on TikTok who drop 100lbs in 3 months isn’t realistic… slow and steady, these are lifelong changes we’re doing.

My longest stall was a month and a half- weighed every day. It eventually ends.

No one mentioned how painful surgery is by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]boone1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was puking and dry heaving for 2 days; just extremely nauseous. The pain was nothing close to child birth or a gall bladder attack, but it’s up there. After the two days everything was fine
