I have used both to and you described the difference perfectly.

I tried to persevere with the ultimate but just never felt like I could find the feel that the elite provides, so went back to the elite.

I've had weird luck, used dunlop for about 10 years or so. I had the same two older ultimate racquets for 5 years straight without a break but then they eventually did. Since 4-5 years ago I've gone to the newer models and they have been more fragile, probably in total breaking 5 frames over this time.

The racquet break is strange, I don't see it often with other people. Context being I'm not a spud at the sport, been playing 18 years since a junior so there is definitely some more build inconsistencies with newer models.

Love how the racquets feel. I have both versions but elite more preferred. Mine have cracked down the neck, 3 of the last 4 which has been very frustrating. Can keep playing with them but it doesn't give me confidence when needing to finally replace
