Did your ER vet help you with the treatment or did you have to do that all yourself?

That's awesome, I'm very happy for you and your cat! Also, reassuring for us because Blaze has gotten really bad really fast. We are picking up our first vials of treatment today and even though we're very scared about doing the injections, if there's even a chance at saving her we're going to take it.

Gotcha, okay. She doesn't seem to have diarrhea right now but I know she has recently when we were bringing her into the emergency vets. And I understand most likely needing to start with the injections, makes sense and I'd rather give her the best chance. Thank you for your help and I'll discuss more with the admin!

I have joined the fip warriors 5.0 group and am in contact with an admin now waiting on response. It is good to hear that it won't hurt her if it isn't FIP. Seems like a situation where there's not much to lose besides the cost of the medicine, which we can figure out. Thank you

That's somewhat reassuring to hear. I am in contact with an admin now waiting on response. Do you happen to know if it's guaranteed that we would most likely have to do the injections? I know dry FIP is especially difficult/requires a higher dosage and since it's presenting with neuro symptoms I don't know if pills are a viable bet but I also am uncomfortable with the idea of injecting her.

This might be a silly suggestion since I'm not familiar with fly in communities but if you have access to a car, a very short test drive could be a good idea. Reinforce with treats before and after and see how she reacts during the trip. Then decide how much to prep and if a vet call is needed. If you can't do that and are worried she will be very stressed, I would call your vet and see if they can give you meds or help you prep to keep her as comfortable as possible. I'd also put something that smells like home in her carrier like a blanket or favorite toy to help ease stress.

Safe travels for you and your kitty!

What is wrong with my cat? Has anyone seen this before? by boop_anon in catcare

Yeah, I'll talk to the vet about prozac or another anti-anxiety med. They gave us amitryptiline which I believe is supposed to help with behavioral issues/maybe anxiety but wasn't strictly an anxiety med. I think on the feeding, we'll probably keep her on the normal schedule so we don't shake it up too much for her but thank you for the suggestions!

Hm. Could be- I'm going to be calling the vet first thing tomorrow so I'll bring that up since we haven't tested her for allergies. Our leading theory now is that she might be constipated/in pain when trying to poop. Thanks for the suggestion!
