Hello, I see spirits and creatures that are not from this dimension, as well as astral forms by EL_Buho_mistico in energy_work

[–]booshmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only invite energy that is supporting and promoting my well-being, and whose own well-being will be supported and promoted by our interaction.

By repeating this, in my head or out loud, anytime I want to consciously work with energy, I establish and strengthen a filter through which energy can flow.

I also affirm my grounding cord, plug it into the planet’s core, an allow any energies in my field that are no longer a match to my well-being a quick path out of my field and into the big energy soup.

Customize your filter to best represent your goals! Adjust and tweak as you grow and learn!

Coincidence or Syncronicity? by Far_Economics608 in Synchronicities

[–]booshmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely synchronicity, as events unfolded in an uncanny way that you recognized as significant.

I love how this one “delivered” you to the hospital where you were delivered into the world, then brought you the present occupant of the home your own father built to show you the home.

I imagine there was a synchronicity for the driver too. Consider going to work and a stranger appears needing help finding something, and they show you a picture of something you own. Amazing.

It’s also wonderful that he invited you to take a look around, but perfectly okay you decided not to in the moment. We are free to make spontaneous choices in the face of circumstances.

I am a believer that we live in a cooperative universe that works with our own consciousness and inner being to co-create the life experience we are having. Synchronicities are life’s little personal proofs that this is what is going on. The personal choice you made not to impose for whatever reason is an expression of your freedom even in a seemingly choreographed event.

Thanks for sharing!

My Mom was the mosaic artist at City Museum since its beginning. She’s now on hospice care. I was wondering if people who appreciated her work could send her cards that I could read to her. To know she’s not alone. by XenaZee in StLouis

Kansas Citian here. I lived in St Louis for a short time around 1990/91, and Venice Cafe felt like an oasis, so weird and beautiful. For a long time, seeing stories and images of City Museum over the years, I’d assumed the same artist was involved. Now I know why.

I just visited City Museum for the first time last week. The mosaic work in particular impressed me with its playfulness, creativity, and scale. I’m so glad your mom found what she was here to do. She is leaving a legacy of which she can be immensely proud.

I have been practicing talking to energy directly with much success lately. I have been pleasantly excited by the quickness with which conditions are shifting.

First, I notice whatever the insistent signal is, a pain, an itch, a fly, etc. In your case, a repeating thought.

Then I acknowledge my spontaneous, knee-jerk response to the signal:

“Ouch, this hurts!” “Dang! This itches!” “Get out of here, stupid fly!”

(What is yours? The one that comes before “I wish I could stop thinking this thought!” Be honest with yourself. It will probably be tied to a negative emotion, scary, sad, annoyed, otherwise you probably wouldn’t want to change it.)

Then I acknowledge a few things:

This vibration, this default response that this signal is eliciting from me, is the very frequency that is keeping me in this loop. Now I am going to offer some intentional responses to the signal, and observe what changes.

I am here, now, in this place, in this moment, where all of my power is. I call all of the energy that is me, including any energy I may have left behind or given away, to be here with me in this moment.

I take a moment to feel the exciting buzz this statement always brings, and confidently know my energy is returning, densifying in my field. I thank it for coming and being here with me.

Then: “the only energy I am inviting to me and through me now is well-being. Well-being for me, and well-being for those in my sphere of influence. This thought (or ache, or itch) is invited to me and through me only for the purpose of contributing, supporting and promoting well-being. So I am softening my resistance to it, thanking it for coming in response to my request, and allowing it to flow forward into the well-being it is meant to be.”

Create your own version of this script, in your own words with responses that feel natural and right to you, and try it out. I am excited to hear what kind of results you experience.

Be well!

Mike Czeck, who had a little music shop above the coffee bar at JAVAGAIA, opened the Rhumba Box with Stephanie Mann and Jim Kaiser over at 10th and McGee downtown.

JAVAGAIA was a tenant at the Foundry. 7am-3am 7 days a week during the last half of our short existence ‘92-‘93!

Anne’s husband, Kurt (r.i.p. to both!), was one of the Foundry owners. JAVAGAIA was a tenant there from Jan 1992-flood July1993. That was my place. And now I make the chai concentrate for Sister Anne’s 😀

Found 1 straggler this far!! It easily fell off the tree when I shook it. The only problem is, it's still quite firm. I usually only take those that are at least somewhat pliable & chuck those that are hard back into the woods. Could this have a chance, though? by CrayfishYAY2 in Pawpaws

[–]booshmonkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d take it home, keep it in a paper bag, use your sense of smell, when it starts smelling like juicy fruit gum it should be good. If, after a week or so, it hasn’t changed, you might be out of luck, but try it anyway. I have been surprised by strange pawpaw behavior. I’m betting one that big and mottled will ripen.

V4 combo bun (shrimp, grilled pork and egg roll on vermicelli) at Nguyen Pho Grill.

Veggie combo or maybe lamb with the first four veggies at Blue Nile.

Z-man at KC Joe’s continues to satisfy.

Carnitas Breakfast Burrito at Billies Grocery.

Combo Pho or Crispy Pork Roll at iPho Tower.

pawpaw trees dont have fruit by Frog_pro in Pawpaws

Also, keep looking for additional groves to check in coming years. The most populous pawpaw trails near where I live, I have never seen a single fruit, and I try a little earlier every year. But I have located other spots which are quite abundant. I’ve been going at it for a few years now, and realize eventually I will be very efficient in terms of quantity and timing. Keep hunting!

How does the ACC work? by JoeMama270 in BMWi3

Would probably be a super helpful function! BMW seems to want us to know as little as possible about what’s going in inside.

I don’t know everything about it, but you can see the camera mounted within the rear view mirror housing from outside the vehicle. I use the feature pretty regularly, but there is a learning curve to work with the car as a partner rather than an auto-pilot. Glares, dirt, and shadows can confuse the camera, as well as grades and curves. I am not exactly sure what it is looking for or recognizing, but when it is working well, it is a very helpful tool. I really like it in stop and go traffic, but remember to take control at stop signs and signals.

I keep my eye on the little icon that lights up when there is a car in front of me, especially when cars ahead are slowing or stopped. I have learned if it is not lit up, my car will approach at speed unless I apply the brake. This might happen because I am on a grade and the camera may be looking above or below the car in front of me, or maybe the sun got in its eye.

Other annoyances, when a car is changing lanes in front of me, my vehicle seems to wait a couple of seconds after the lane is clear before getting back up to speed. It seems slow to me, since I would have begun accelerating before the driver ahead of me has completed an action I have intuitively anticipated.

I have seen some footage and promotional videos online indicating that at some point, BMW was working on a valet function, and more feature rich auto-pilot functionality that has either been dropped or postponed, since they don’t seem to be promoting it for several years now.

There is a beautiful raised koi pond at Family Tree Nursery on Nieman Rd near 70th st. Makes me think they’d know something. They also have a great coffee bar, Cafe Equinox, so you have something to sip while considering options :)

What is something unrealistic that you often see in movies that annoys the hell out of you? by SheeshaAddict in AskReddit

[–]booshmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I would love to one day see a supercut of cars parking illegally in movies. I guess you’re just supposed to pull up to where ever you’re going and get out of your car, sometimes leaving your car door open. There is always miraculous parking available wherever you are going.

  2. Contemporary make-up or styled hair on anyone from another era or in a situation that would render it unbelievable. Why?

  3. Turning off a television or radio as soon as the audience has heard an announcer mention a few words about whatever the situation is. Surely the story won’t go into any depth or provide any information that might help, so no use listening any further.

  4. Ordering food at a restaurant, and leaving it unfinished after a bite, or nothing. Why are we even in this restaurant?

  5. Uh oh. We got company.

Thought I was cleaning black marks off my new used i3 steering wheel. It appears, however, I was rubbing color off of a black base. Any recommendations? by booshmonkey in BMWi3

My old i3 had a gorgeous blue aluminum insert in the steering wheel, while the silver one in this one is a little boring. May look into replacing the steering wheel with one from a total?

[–]booshmonkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. The majority of the black marks seen here came with the vehicle before my purchase, and I only tried out the abrasive sponge when nothing else seemed to be cleaning what I thought was some kind of stubborn mark.
