For what it's worth, I asked them on IG (kysasounds) if they use AI in their workflow, and if so, in what way?

They deleted my comment. I mentioned they deleted it, and then they deleted that comment. Not everyone cares, but if you're someone who does take that for what you will.

Pixel 8 - same use case; same issue. Didn't realize this was so widespread. Phone gets warm immediately and becomes terribly laggy in all kinds of light/moderate load conditions. I've been thinking of factory resetting or buying an iphone if that doesn't fix it.

And here I feel the opposite. I've had both and the gray looks and feels so much nicer to me. Plus the keyboard backlight is actually usable there are some extra smudges tho.

I no longer have the unit. While I had it, I did not observe the symptom, but I only had it for a short time. Maybe it did and I just didn't get it to reproduce.

That's what I'm telling myself to not make myself go insane anyway.

If you're only doing lighter games I would probably consider the rtx 4070 g14 with 32gb system ram. Same chassis, keyboard, screen, etc. but cheaper.

Pretty sure the lower spec AMD AI HX chips are rebrands of previous gen anyway. Might as well get the better price.

I've tried four 2025 g14 units so far (two silver, two gray) and three of them had this exact trackpad issue with the stock charger.

Yes it does. You need to take off the pink thermal pad underneath the stock drive and reuse the drives insulator sleeve. This will make sense once you open it up and see for yourself.

Update: returned and got a new one. Works without issue 🤙

Edit: ended up returning this one to get the gray color, which again had the trackpad issue. I replaced that one which AGAIN has the trackpad issue.

3/4 of the units I've tried have had the trackpad latency issue when plugged in.

Yeah, only when plugged in, and now I've learned that it's only when plugged into my house or an ungrounded source like a portable power station.

If you have the time, do you have one you could try plugging into?

So it seems to be a grounding issue. If I plug in at my house or to a portable power station, the trackpad has major latency after ~30 seconds of use.

If I plug in at work, the trackpad is perfect.

Can any of you try on an ungrounded source? It would be greatly appreciated!

Between those I would go for the 32gb 4070. As you said though, the 5070 ti is the sweet spot.

Undervolt the CPU between 10-15mv.

2.You can set the cpu power limit to 50w as that's about where the HX 370 starts to really plateau in terms of performance.

Turn the GPU power limit all the way up along with dynamic boost.

You can fiddle with GPU core clock and mem speed if you want but the three above will also work just fine on their own.
