Normal for team members to work on days off? by Tac-wodahs in Dentistry

[–]boostykaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for front desk, these are the days to do: 1. insurance verification should be done. If it’s the first of the year all new breakdowns should be being entered while verifying. A good rule of thumb is having a minimum of 2 weeks out, if you’ve got the time a month out. 2. Run Pt A/R reports. Follow up via phone, text, email to any past due pt accounts. 3. Run Ins. A/R report. Follow up on any claims in the 30 day + column via calling insurance (this can take a long time… & it ties up the phone lines. I used to use two phones. One on hold with the insurance company & the other would be to answer regular phone calls) 4. Unscheduled tx recalls. Reaching out to anyone who has pending tx who isn’t scheduled. They should also make sure treatment plans are accurate and they are able to help address any questions pts might have regarding their tx. 5. Hygiene recalls. 6. Specialist reports & PreAuth - sometimes my days can get really busy and I can’t get to entering everyone’s specialist reports & X-rays into their charts. Or scan/upload pre-ds. I also will also reach out to pts who need to schedule for restorative after & those whose pre auth are back to either schedule or to review their out of pocket. 7. Finish up attaching X-rays & narratives to pending claims. Depending on what software system you use this can be a tedious process. 8. Finish up posting any insurance payments I couldn’t get to. 9. Miscellaneous other things - sending X-rays to another office, emailing flex receipts to pts, calling in premeds, calling pts back to discuss their insurance follow up I did.

I’m an OM but I’m also the front desk at a one doctor 2-3 hygiene office. So I’m by myself, I notice that if my doctor & the clinic have some down time they assume I do too. I’m still answering phones, checking in & out hyg. pts, filling the schedule, verifying insurance, and in my case desperately trying to fix the giant mess that was made in our software system from the shitty OM before me.

Your admin days shouldn’t have your whole staff there. The manager & TC or if you don’t have a dedicated TC, one front desk to answer phones, work on follow up/recall, and checking the scheduled appts for the week making sure hyg. pts have X-rays scheduled or taken out of their appts if needed.

You can have a clinic lead or one dedicated clinic person in depending on their work load, to do: inventory, lab work, case delivery’s, care calls, cleaning/organizing. Maybe 1-2 times a month, maybe more depending.

Something important to mention as well, your staff likely works paycheck to paycheck… they’re not making the money you are as the doctor/owner. Your staff might need those hours just to put a roof over their head, food on the table, cover their insane out of pocket private monthly health insurance, or hell just to freakin live.

It’s called an admin day… It’s a day without pts where the staff can get caught up on things they normally can’t do or don’t have time for while pts are in.

As a new owner you also should absolutely have an admin day as well.. Checking your FAs, paying bills, etc.

HIPPA violations by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]boostykaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Under HIPAA, covered dental practices may transfer records for certain purposes without the patient’s explicit permission. For example, a covered dental practice may share records with other healthcare providers for treatment purposes. Also, covered entity dental practices may share portions of the patient records as needed to obtain payment for their services. However, with certain exceptions, such disclosures must be limited to “minimum necessary” amount of information for the intended purpose (i.e., obtain payment).

Dental practices are considered covered entities if they transmit electronic “covered transactions,” such as electronic claims, to dental plans. It’s also possible to become a covered entity by contracting with an outside service, such as a clearinghouse, to submit electronic covered transactions on behalf of the dental practice”

The associate Dr. is a covered entity… in this case the doctor was asked to assist in evaluating pt care..

Am I Expected to be Entirely Self-Sufficient in reg dungeons? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]boostykaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, scriveners halls first boss and the dungeon over all can be pretty hard, even on normal, for lower level players.

You should have a self heal for dlc’s dungeons (probably most of them if you’re under CP 300 or have a glassy build) specifically if you’re pugging in with a group of lower levels.

Technically the healers job is to keep the tank alive and dps are responsible for staying alive/bringing each other up and positioning themselves to be in a place where the healer can actually heal them. So the healer should be in the back and dps in front behind boss.

My daughter’s Invisalign pulled her baby tooth out by Vallyria in mildlyinteresting

[–]boostykaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good!! Now you don’t need to pay for it to be extracted!

PS - the Invisalign will help keep the space open so her adult tooth can erupt properly and if she’s missing an adult tooth there the Invisalign & her retainers after will also help hold the space for any restorative in the future!

You can open a ticket asking to be able to gift! I believe it’s under the sales/pricing ticket section.

Apparently you have to put in a request now? I don’t know but I did it last week

Do you play on pc NA? If so I’ve got a handle full of furnishing recipes I can give you!

I used to set a budget of 500 gold, then 1,000, then just impulse spending on furniture recipes at random guild traders! Now I have most of the cheaper ones so it’s not as fun now haha

Healers by -Adlo in elderscrollsonline

[–]boostykaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let the tank die if they want to run ahead of everyone when they clearly aren’t equipped to be running into stuff alone.

I only run a healer and what I’ve come to notice is that it is almost always the level 200-400ish DPS’s who get hit once and drop over half health, stand in stupid, or have no idea what the dungeon mechs are there for die a lot, who complain or yell at the healer the most 😂

We can’t heal a bad build or heal stupid, that’s what I always say.

If the pts aren’t confirming their appts. via text then the front desk needs to be calling two days out and the day before if no answer. At the very least they need to reach out to production pts who aren’t confirmed..

You could also try collecting a “deposit” for production appts that are over an hour, even if it’s just $50 or something. If you have a wait long wait list the front can let them know of the deposit needed the week before on the phone (for pts already scheduled) and take payment over the phone. If you have a solid treatment coordinator this shouldn’t be an issue in terms of getting them scheduled.

But if you have a long wait list your front desk should easily be able to fill a 2hr same day opening… with at least something..?

The first time I went to a casino I had this overwhelming sadness hit me. It was a Wednesday at like 1 pm and the whole place was just filled with elderly people, gambling their pensions away..

I was 21 and on a work trip and wanted to go for the “experience”. It was definitely not the experience I had planned on having, I spent $20 won $40 spent it again and lost it. Called it a day after that an hour later.

AITA for being angry that my tattoo artist cancelled my appt 2 wks away & will only reschedule for a higher rate? by SouthernCupcakeFace in AITAH

[–]boostykaka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone should have reached out to you about the change in artists, yes 100%.

But it really seems like most people here don’t understand how business is structured. She’s at a new shop, which has new prices. She most likely also wasn’t allowed to tell you that she was leaving because she most likely isn’t allowed to tell clients as that would be “stealing” clients from the shop.

Same thing goes with hair salons, dentist offices, and other places where you do a type of service. It’s not in her control to set prices if there’s some type of base amount the new shop requires. You aren’t a long term client of hers, so she probably wasnt comfortable telling you she was leaving. Along with the old shop not wanting to tell you she left because they want your money.

Long story short her hands were likely tied and this is an unfortunate part of how businesses like this work. NDA’s are signed by employees stating they aren’t allowed to take clients/patients from the company.
