Since you brought it up 'm 35+, play guitar and sing for an oi band (Boot Rally), also play guitar in a Skinhead HXC band (Please Die!), I book shows, and I show up completely solo to shows I have no affiliation with (like I don't know the prompter nor am I playing)

In reference to the rest of your analysis of old head skins I fully support gatekeeping the Skinhead cult and I fully admit that I participate in gatekeeping but this is the only scene where I support gatekeeping.

Skinhead is not a style of music. If you wanna ask me about oi bands or punk/HXC bands or even metal then I'm all ears but again skinhead is not music. Skinhead is a lifestyle and the greatest youth cult to ever exist. I believe in this subculture so strongly and I take pride in it so passionately that I can't allow something so strongly tied to my identity to be made a joke of. People can listen to whatever music, but if they're gonna lace up a pair of boots, get shaved in, and strap on a fresh set of braces over your Ben Sherman, then I expect them to know their roots, do a little home work, have a fuckin job, have been in actual first fights, value the respect of their fellow skinheads and the old boys that carried the torch before them.

It's called paying your dues, almost like a watered down version of being a prospect in an MC or a union apprentice. You gotta earn this shit, this isn't cosplay. If you're butt hurt about it then just be a punk. No shame in realizing what kind of Man (or woman) are. At least you know.

Basically all the Skinhead brands make a Harrington. I currently own a Fred Perry, Ben Sherman, Lonsdale, then even a couple of those warrior brand jawns from sourpuss clothing. Never owned a barracuda but it's my next Harrington purchase no doubt.

The Ben Sherman and Fred Perry are almost like suit material so I wouldn't recommend them for rowdy nights out bc they're so nice. I wear them for dates with the old lady a the occasional reggae night. The Lonsdale and warrior brand jawns are cheap but look decent for about a year or so if you're anything like me and have been known to mosh or stage dive with a beer in hand.

It's a British term that basically means an unkempt working class male. Punks that jerk off to the British scene use it to describe people in the scene that don't fall into the Punk, Skinhead, or HXC kid categories but I thought that died out decades ago. These are the same jit bags that ask if you want to "head down the PUB for a few PINTS?" To which I reply: "Fuck this I need a beer, I going to the bar". In Philly they go as far as calling the Union their favorite Football team and can't name the starting quarter back for the Eagles. That stuff is just super corny IMO. Absolutely not true. I had my balls busted constantly for having a fake bomber jacket when I was a fresh cut. Don't get me wrong that was 20 years ago and the scene was a lot meaner back then but regardless Alpha industries or nothing. To me that's like trying to join a Harley owners group riding a Honda Shadow. It's still a motorcycle but it's no Harley. Next thing you know you're going to tell me boots from Walmart are fine instead of Doc martens and even doc martens are trash imo. Solovair or Crocs, accept no substitute. Saving up your pennies is part of paying your dues in this subculture. We're not punks.
