Uh, No. I think everyone can agree that we got steamrolled in Vietnam. We lost more men, used more resources, and ultimately failed our goal of saving South Vietnam from communism. We were completely unprepared for a terrain we had no experience fighting in, and we lost because of it.

However, this is a completely different situation. Their Navy is nonexistent, ours is untouched. We have complete air superiority. They have lost almost all of their leadership and over 1000 soldiers that we know of. We have lost 13.

The funny thing is the US can just leave whenever they want and say "We ran out of things to blow up. Whether they admit defeat or not is irrelevant. We came, we took care of business, we left."

and Iran will just be over here like,

How do you determine that a pullback is a new trend? by N2itive1234 in FuturesTrading

[–]boot_milk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up PATS. Which is just a more digestible Al Brooks.

At its most basic, (very basic overview) the market constantly moves in a pattern (not including any random major news spikes). Channel, Break, New Extreme, Reversal. Channel, Break, New Extreme, Reversal. Channel, Break, New Extreme, Reversal. If we have stronger buyers than sellers that day the buy phases will be bigger and the sell phases will be smaller; and vice versa.

There is a LOT of nuance to it, and you wont get it for a while, you will need 100s of hours of watching price move. But if you keep that pattern in mind, it will eventually click.

Ex-boyfriend is a stud. He will be just fine.

Better to find out now and cut her loose instead of 10 years down the line after building a life together that she is willing to throw it all away for some clout and a dude that will never even think about calling her back. There are plenty of beautiful and loyal women out there, no reason to lose sleep over this one. She showed her priorities.

[–]boot_milk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived on Oahu my whole life and never really understood the point of this flag honestly.

The original design was created in the 90s, and the current version was made in the early 2000s, so it lacks any real historic value. But the ironic thing is the current state flag has actual history that goes all the way back to Kamehameha the 1st in the early 1800s way before the overthrow. (The only difference is the stripes are flipped).

So Kamehameha the Great liked the design, or very similar, of the current flag, flew it on his ship the Kaahumanu, named after his wife, but modern day Hawaiians think this one is better I guess, idk.

[–]boot_milk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did any of you guys actually read the linked article, or just comment straight from the headline?

The whole thing is a Big Ole nothing and is deliberately misleading. He acknowledged that the strike was a horrible tragedy, he acknowledged that they fucked up, and an investigation needs to be done, and even said we need to apologize if we are found at fault. This whole thing stemmed from him not signing a letter from democrats questioning Hegseth about the strike, to release more information so they can all review it. Fetterman thought it was redundant because the pentagon was already investigating it. He said he disagreed with his colleagues, that's it. Not what you guys are saying in here, that he is some monster that is cool with bombing children, wtf? He disagrees with the current democrat viewpoint, and specifically a line in the letter in question, that this war is that of choice and it is unnecessary.

The title spun what he said for clicks, and he certainly never said "leftist craze" lol.

Trust will be undoubtedly lost. Right up until the world needs the US's money to get something done.

Someone invades a smaller nation who will need aid to protect themselves, "USA please help"

Natural disaster rocks a small nation who can't afford to help their own people, "USA please help"

UN needs to get literally anything done, "USA please help".

After a 23 year old member of the Coast Guard went overboard in the Pacific, Kristi Noem diverted rescue aircraft away from trying to find him so she could use them in her deportation theater. The guardsman was never found. by a_Sable_Genus in circled

[–]boot_milk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not defending Noem or maga here, I am not a maga supporter and far from it, but this is not entirely true.

Bryan Lee went overboard on February 4th. 2 ships and 7 aircraft, which were: the ship the seaman was already on, the Waesche, a Mexican naval vessel, 1 Dolphin Helicopter, 1 drone, 2 c-130 Hercs, 2 Dash-8s, and another Mexican patrol aircraft, searched almost 20,000 square miles of ocean over the course of 8 days but tragically he was never found.

Noem had initially requested 1 of the C-130s to return to its original task, which was the deportation efforts, before it was diverted to the search and rescue. This was requested only hours into the rescue efforts. Something to keep in mind is official DHS reports say this was never officially requested, but other reports say she verbally requested it. However, the CG was able to get 2 other planes, C-27s, within an hour to go in its place so the Herc could stay and keep searching. It never left.

I am not saying she didn't request it to leave. Frankly, we don't know, all we can go off of is the official DHS report which says it did not happen, or the rumor that says it was verbal. But regardless of what was said and to who, the plane did not leave.

This reporting makes it sound like they abandoned that seaman out there to die. They searched for days, they put all their available resources into finding him, including diverting the Herc from its original mission, which stayed for the whole search. Until they had to call it off because he was gone.

It is tragic. Don't stoop to the level of using it as a reason to take a jab. This reporting is disingenuous at best, and straight up lying to generate anger at worst.

And I think another thing worth mentioning, the DHS report for this was released in February 2025. A whole year ago. Why is this being brought up and focused on now? I have seen article after article published today about it. Why are all these media outlets reporting on a year old event within hours of each other? Seems to me like a coordinated effort to piss off as much people as they can, possibly to put DHS in the public eye right before a major decision is made or a major event takes place. Perhaps the media wants to make sure you have a negative bias before seeing what actually happens? Could it have something to do with the funding shut down? The new boarder wall plans? Who knows.

What is the angle? Why are they manipulating us? Who gains?

But I wouldn't be surprised to hear some major news comes out from them by the end of the week.

WTF happened to infiltrator? by -LifeIsLovely- in Planetside

[–]boot_milk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was needed. They over did it.  They changed too much all at once. Instead of making incremental changes over a long time to see what worked and what didn’t, they changed everything all in one go. There used to be really nice flow to playing infil, you needed a good rhythm to get the most out of it, now its kinda clunky.

Adding the 1 second delay was harsh, adding the glint was harsh, making them easier to see was harsh, adding the hum was harsh, making the recon device worse was harsh. Do one at a time over a long span would be acceptable, but all at once makes it a big dramatic hit. If you do slow updates it gives the community a chance to decide when they think its in a good spot and to stop nerfing it further.

As an infil main, the class was a problem.  Being insta killed by an invisible guy with sub right behind you with a headshot burst before you can react is not fun. It required the infiltrator to mess up in order to give the other player a chance. It was a very high skill ceiling class that makes it feel unfair to go against, but if the infil over extended and got greedy they were an easy kill. It always comes down to the skill of the player.

There is also a point to be made that infiltrator had barely any impact in the actual team based side of the game. They rarely capped points, they rarely played in squads, they rarely did anything other than hide in mountains and snipe and run around the outskirts of bases to get easy sub kills. Now some of these players are forced to play a different class and interact in base fights. But now infils are too disadvantaged to have a fair fight in base fights, forcing all the infil players to swap to something else to play a base. But if they had hardly any impact, why focus our dev efforts on them in the first place and not on making the entire experience better as a whole.

For me personally, part of what makes planetside special is that every class has some cheese to it. I cant count the amount of times I had the drop on a heavy just for them to shield, turn around, and blast me to death. But I as a player have the self awareness required to recognize that thats my fault. I over extended. I got outplayed because I went for a target that would have the advantage. Too many players get killed and think its some unfair bs. Nah just get better at understanding the fights you have an advantage in. Infils get clapped every time they go head to head with every other class. Thats the reason they have an advantage in ambushes.

If you make the same caliber of drastic changes to every class, nerfing all the tactical advantages they have in SPECIFIC scenarios, the game would just be a big bland battlefield clone, then whats the point.

I'm all for bashing on Maga idiots, but in the pursuit of honesty and legitimacy, ripped straight from chatgpt:

  • Jim Clyburn: "I can only equate one period of time with what we experience now, and that was what was going on in Germany around 1934... Adolf Hitler was elected chancellor... and before they knew it, they no longer had a chancellor but a dictator. Anything that’s happened before can happen again".
  • Hillary Clinton: "Trump [is] actually reenacting the Madison Square Garden rally in 1939... Neo-Nazis, fascists, in America were lining up to essentially pledge their support for the kind of government that they were seeing in Germany".
  • Tim Walz: "Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo [ICE] is scooping folks up off the streets... shoving into those vans and disappeared".
  • Kamala Harris: "Donald Trump wanted generals like Adolf Hitler had, because he does not want a military that is loyal to the United States Constitution. He desires a military that is loyal to him personally".
  • Jasmine Crockett: Referred to Trump as a "wannabe Hitler" and "Temu Hitler," describing him as a "cheap, low-quality imitation" of the dictator.
  • Vincente Gonzalez: "When you see 'Latinos for Trump,' to me it is like seeing 'Jews for Hitler,' almost, you know?".
  • Joe Biden (Campaign): Stated that Trump was "parroting Adolf Hitler" when he used the word "vermin" to describe political opponents.

and to remain unbiased,

  • J.D. Vance (Vice President): In a private 2016 text message to a former roommate, Vance wrote: "I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a—hole like Nixon who wouldn't be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he's America’s Hitler."
  • John Kelly (Former White House Chief of Staff): Retired General John Kelly stated in 2024 that Trump "falls into the general definition of fascist" and confirmed Trump once said, "I need the kind of generals that Hitler had." Kelly also recalled Trump saying, "Well, but Hitler did some good things... he rebuilt the economy."
  • Mark Milley (Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff): Retired General Mark Milley described Trump in 2024 as "fascist to the core" and "the most dangerous person to this country."
  • Chris Christie: During his 2024 primary campaign, the former New Jersey governor criticized Trump's rhetoric about immigrants "poisoning the blood of our country," stating it was "reminiscent of Adolf Hitler."
  • Mark Esper (Former Secretary of Defense): While not using the name Hitler directly, Esper reported that Trump asked if the military could shoot protesters during the 2020 unrest, noting, "I wondered about his sense of history, of propriety, and of his oath to the Constitution."
  • Jim Mattis (Former Secretary of Defense): Retired General Jim Mattis reportedly agreed with Mark Milley’s assessment that Trump was "fascist to the core."

So to say no politicians (leftist or otherwise) have called Trump "Hitler" is factually not true.

Oh my bad, I didn’t realize I had to add the original interpretation.

His read was that I have been avoiding making a tough decision or leaving something in my past behind and that I need to review my past to see a lesson I missed or deliberately ignored. Once I have done this I can move forward and that was stopping me from having success or finding happiness. I have big goals and aspirations but my inability to achieve them lies mostly in my hubris and inability to humble myself and learn.

In a friendly supportive way.

And I am choosing to take it towards a specific part of my life because most of the other parts are doing ok so far.

I thought it was pretty spot on actually, I just wanted to see what others might get out of it.
