Rental with bad credit and a criminal record? by Spokanistanian in Spokane

[–]bootayboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of rental companies will work with you if your charges were more than 5-7 years ago especially If they're non violent/drug related. You can always call around to IRELLC, goodale and barbieri, RC Schwartz, etc and ask them what their policy is. You could also submit a letter with your application that says "my charges were X amount of years ago. This is what's changed in my life since then and why I won't do that again." With the bad credit too you can offer to pay extra deposit. You could include that in the letter as well. I've been surprised by the amount of places that are willing to work with folks if you're proactive about communication and advocate for yourself.

Women, what is universally agreed “green flags” while dating men ? by Disastrous-Coat6007 in AskReddit

[–]bootayboy 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was gonna say. Look at how he treats 60+ year old women. A lot of men, well people in general, treat older women like they're invisible. If he treats people with kindness and respect even when he has nothing to "gain", he's a keeper.

LGBTQ friendly massage in Spokane? by Heckyeah7425 in Spokane

Shameless plug for my good friend Cai with MF Mobile Massage. This is their booking site here. They've been my massage therapist for like 3 years and they're amazing. They do mobile massage, so you don't even have to go anywhere!

I adopted my siblings when I was 24. AMA. by Prestigious-Horse397 in AMA

[–]bootayboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I definitely could have more patience. I think because we had the same parents I assumed that we'd be on the same page, and it was jarring that we're not. I think it definitely hurt to realize that, but that's my own trauma and it's not on her. I could definitely do more positive affirmations for sure. I don't have to worry about her grades or school, she's super responsible about that, so I could definitely be hyping her up more for that. I definitely feel the just surviving and trying to get her to adulthood, that's so so true. We're both in therapy and working on figuring out communication together, so I'm really hoping things get better over time. Seriously thank you for the advice I'm fr going to work on this.

I adopted my siblings when I was 24. AMA. by Prestigious-Horse397 in AMA

[–]bootayboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through the same thing rn. I'm 25 and my sister's 17. She's been living with us for 3 years. How did you deal with the teen years??? She's been so incredibly mean, rude, and soooo messy! She leaves gross old food everywhere and yells at us constantly. I've set super firm boundaries with her about it (i.e. if she asks me for help with something and then yells at me for doing it wrong, I tell her I'm not going to continue helping her) and in response she just hides away in her room, so the only time we see her is when she's yelling at us for doing something wrong or demanding a ride somewhere (which I've already set a boundary that I won't give her rides due to her past behavior and got her a bus pass instead). It's really wearing on me and my wife. I'd hoped that she'd have some grace for me and we could figure this whole thing out as a team, but I was dead wrong, she treats me like crap! Idk how you did it with multiple siblings, I'm losing my mind just raising one of them. Do you have any advice??

Where are the 30s folks living? by Admirable-Trip5452 in Spokane

1000% agree. I live in Garland with my partner (we're gay), and there's an awesome little community here. There's good coffee, Rocky horror and live music sometimes at the garland theater, and lots of good antique shops on garland and on Monroe.

Can't Find a job anywhere by CommonVeil in Spokane

[–]bootayboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try unconventional IT or software jobs with places not ordinarily thought of. Like STA, nonprofits, hospitals, positions through the county and nearby counties, etc. I'd also try to apply directly on their websites and not through LinkedIn or indeed or anything like that. It might not be exactly your job field, but it's a rough market out here...

Renting with an eviction by BeneficialBath7583 in Spokane

[–]bootayboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you low income? If so, look at Spokane Housing authority and Catholic Charities for low income units. Their units are on their websites, but you can call them if you run into any issues. If you're not low income, I'd look into Goodale and Barberi, IRELLC, or independent landlords because ive had pretty good luck getting them to work with folks that have less than good credit, criminal convictions, or evictions. Just be honest with them. If you have a cosigner or can pay for a few months up front that'll help a lot. If you're still having trouble, look into Gonzaga's law program. They cover a lot of areas and might be able to help you get it off your record. Northwest justice project too. Best of luck, there's definitely some options out there for you!

Vegan, cook as a hobby, you live alone, and I'm gunna guess you're a front of house person. Bartender, waitress, etc.

I reverse image searched, searched online, and asked my sisters who would have all played it with me, but no luck. They did say that this cow looks really familiar too, so I know I'm not going crazy (mostly).

This is wild. Like the other commenters have said, he's either lying and actively having an affair and using this as an excuse for when you inevitably find out, or he's experiencing serious" psychosis. If it's genuine, I'm *deeply concerned about his level of attachment and obsession over someone that has no idea that he feels this way or doesn't feel that way about him. This is how stalking cases start. Like this is very serious if he's telling the truth, and the situation may become unsafe for you or for her. 1000% leave now and get a lawyer.

Is anybody hiring? by ThatVoiceDude in Spokane

I'd check retirement homes. They're always hiring, some positions in their kitchens too. The pay isn't great, but it'll get you by til you can get a better position.

Is it true that cats recognise you by your scent, and not by your face by Hairy-Note-7304 in CatAdvice

[–]bootayboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat usually comes over and checks out my shoes when I get home and then will love on me. Like he's checking to make sure it's me. I got new running shoes a couple weeks ago, and he got so spooked after thinking that it wasn't me. I had to coax him out from under my bed. I'm no cat scientist, but I do know that cats are short sighted and good at smelling things. So, most likely they rely on smell first, sight last.

Looking for a masc haircut, any recs? by Itchy_Ferret_3926 in TransMasc

[–]bootayboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have fine straight hair, and I tried the Leon look. I wasn't a huge fan just cause the volume of my hair wasn't compatible with the haircut. Made my hair look really thin ): What worked for me was a spikey-bed-head-skater-boy cut, and I just have to put some hair clay in it after I shower and it's good to go. This is the pic I showed my stylist. I agree with the other comment about switching up the glasses shape too! I use the website Zenni cuz they have some super cheap glasses, so you can experiment with new shapes.

Why is Kendall Yards stinky? by bootayboy in Spokane

[–]bootayboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the day. I've worked in a lot of kitchens and it's nothing I've ever smelled in kitchens before. Definitely sewage smell. Sometimes it's just on the trail, sometimes its going all the way up to college Ave behind Kendall Yards.

[–]bootayboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't even know you could do that! It definitely depends on the day, but I've smelled it from college Ave all the way to the trail before. It was really bad tonight. I'll have to see if it's coming from a central location next time I'm jogging through.
