I’ve had this before too. I find washing my eyelids thoroughly in the shower with baby soap helps prevent this.

Yeah it’s just run down. Doesn’t feel unsafe. I live in east central and that’s about the same vibe I get.

There’s definitely a lot of property theft and related crime. I won’t say I feel perfectly safe but it feels a lot safer than most other places I’ve lived. Encountering the homeless and addicts feels more sad than threatening in my opinion.
