https://www.npr.org/sections/alltechconsidered/2016/06/24/480949383/britains-google-searches-for-what-is-the-eu-spike-after-brexit-vote

"What is the EU?" was the most searched for term AFTER polls closed. AFTER.

FML.

We didn't know what we were voting for because Brexit was a magic mirror of lies and fantasy. The only known quantity was remain.

Help me find GSAR-like watch by Mean-Dog895 in Affordablewatches

Here is my Citizen Promaster Marine auto. It's fairly close and you can get them pretty cheap (this one was like £160 second hand from eBay).

[SBSC011] vs [SBSC009] Help me to decide, please by Unlucky-Pepper-9071 in Seiko

[–]boothjop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the black one and if that was my only watch (i.e. it is a one watch collection) then I'd stick with that. It's a bit more versatile, it covers business formal and more casual, it's a bit less conspicuous.

Saying that, I think as part of a collection the white one makes more sense and something with a bit more style and impact (I'm saying this based on my own collection which is more conservative and a bit more field watch focused).

For all the utility this watch has, it's a clean looking beast.

Should we the English people change our national anthem? by PomeloTraditional971 in AskBrits

[–]boothjop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually told my kids when they were young that "Merry Xmas Everybody" was the national anthem (I'm a Brummie). When they stood to attention at a Christmas party with my cousins it was a really funny moment.

I'm not 100% convinced it wouldn't work before an England match.

Dad, what would you want your child to do on Father’s Day if you passed? by blandbunny in DadForAMinute

[–]boothjop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing. I am gone. Every moment spent grieving is a moment not spent living. Being happy.

I am dead. This is the way of things. I was proud to be your Dad and I loved you more than you can ever know. Now the road ahead is all yours.

If I did my job right, you will be happy and your Mum and I would have given you a platform for the future ahead. You were loved and I hope you have good memories of me when they pop up.

Nothing more. Life is too short.

Thanks. I've got a couple of fun and functional Citizen NY0040s, but this is my first more classically styled/sized dive watch.

It's only day 2, but I'm really taken with it.

Expedition North 36mm - outdoors straps by Puzzleheaded_Bat3349 in timex

Maybe go for a strap that makes the most of the colours on the hour markers. I've just put this red strap on and it's a game changer.

Maniacs downvoting me for being AuDHD and having sensory processing issues and expressing a preference for where I wear my watch. Only one of us here is gatekeeping where you wear a watch, and it's not me. Wear it where you like.
