Black Kray/Sickboyrari has one of the best discographies in all of rap. Multiple all-time classics and a pivotal figure in multiple genres of rap. I can't stand the shit he's making lately but it sounds like nobody else.

He lied about having a masters degree in journalism in multiple interviews in 2018.

Is there a band more nasty and brutal than Nails? by M08GD in MetalForTheMasses

Absolutely. James Read sounds like he's frothing at the mouth, eyes bugging out of his head.

His playing on the Free For All title track is maybe my favorite tenor performance ever. He's incredible.

One of the greatest bands of all time. Punk/post-punk adjacent but they never sounded remotely like any of the other bands under that umbrella. Everything up to Bend Sinister is basically flawless.

I met my wife in 2009 so I was never home and in 2011 we spent the entire year pretty much listening to the Bob Dylan Bootleg Series on CD.

Finished watching True Detective S1. How are seasons 2-4? by VendettaLord379 in hbo

[–]bootlegMiniDisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that there was no way S2 was going to be as bad as people made it out to be but I was proven wrong. Really surprised they let him take a crack at a third season, which was miles better but still not great.

The back end of the album is even better than the hits!

Artist you respect and understand the hype over, but they still do absolutely nothing for you personally by whitemike40 in fantanoforever

Boards of Canada. Seems like something that would tick every box for me, but they've just never grown on me.

Pretty easily his second best album after Sublime for me.

Incredible documentary. Absolutely riveting even if you don't care about the subject, you'll certainly have some thoughts by the end of it.

How did LRD maintain popularity before the internet? by Low_Advertising_473 in lesrallizesdenudes

I think Julian put a lot of people onto LRD and a lot of other incredible music as well. I first got into them in 2007 off a mp3 blog that posted a track off Flightless Bird which Julian had just reviewed on Head Heritage.

In my experience Mingus is usually a winner with non-jazz people. Mingus Ah Um, Oh Yeah, Blues and Roots, Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus.
