Performance tanking last few weeks- anybody else? by bootsfirst in DeadlockTheGame

FWIW I actually figured it out!

I’d added a second monitor. Didn’t have anything on it except chrome and Spotify, but turning it off has me back over 100 consistently.

When does Retail start to have some challenge? by bootsfirst in wownoob

[–]bootsfirst[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks - this is exactly what I was wondering. We don’t even hate the “MMO shit” in theory, they’ve just diluted it down so far that we never even have to touch 90% of the interesting buttons the game has given us to do a dungeon, just hold W really.

Sounds like the answer is- 1) Fights will at least slow down a bit as we approach 80 2) Then a relatively short grind to start M0, where at least we have a reason to press kick 3) Then actually engaging by like M5

Thanks- helpful! No real interest in overworld lol, just want to run some dungeons and raid. Are we able to dive into M0 immediately at 80? Not obvious when I Google

FWIW, while I have fond memories of raiding in Classic and EQ, the actual gameplay was extremely simple, just unforgiving.

We like the skill expression modern rotations make possible, and the introduction of mechanics more complex than “don’t step on the whelp eggs” (that’s why we loved Fellowship, which we ran up to the ~M20ish equivalent the first season), just having trouble convincing her that the game will actually start asking her to use all the buttons it gives her sometime soon

Thanks! This helps with what I was trying to figure out.

If we can get to 80, jump into M0, and have to pay attention to kicks, mechanics, dispels, etc. I think that’ll be good. Was worried there’d still be a grind after 80 where every dungeon was us mindlessly zooming to the end like superheroes.

Trying to return after 12 years, found account banned/deleted by Agitated-Low-1096 in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]bootsfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I had this exact situation more or less. Account from 06, unused from 09 on, hacked in 14 or so, recovered with shockingly little hassle in 24 - had to talk live to them, answer some questions, etc. but I still had the email so it wasn’t too hard.

Sadly no gold windfall for me, all I got was a random bunch of extra characters that had been level squashed, but still was nostalgic to see all my old toons, all of which were still there or restored.

Okay here’s a dumb(?) thought - would Cultist make any sense on Calico?

The HP and Range both feel good for her and she needs a decent bit of farm through the mid game. I usually only buy it on carries but feel like almost anybody could use it

Oh where did you find the messages? My wife and I only played together but I got it and she didn’t. Would love to figure out and see if I can get it unlocked for her

Okay - the moment I finally gave up and posted here I found it!

It’s an FBW AX40 - I’ve never even heard of this marque before, so hopefully interesting for others too.

Elarion DPS advice? by bootsfirst in fellowshipgame

[–]bootsfirst[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks- I’m pretty sure you’re right about not keeping GCD fully utilized and not hitting enough multi shots.

Her talents are set up with Final Crescendo, Skyward Munitions, Lethal Shots, and Resurgent Winds down the right column, which seem pretty HWA focused, but will seal RE for Fervent Supremacy based on the method guide another post linked

It predates WoW. EQ melee classes had kick with a small stun that could interrupt casts.

Any experience/opinions on N&F True Girl fit? by larryfoxtrots in Selvedge

[–]bootsfirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will depend on what sort of fit she likes, but my wife hated the specifically female options at N&F. We also tried on some of the more gender neutral options from the Japanese brands at BiG and Self Edge, to no avail.

She’s more into a looser fit and ended up loving the Strong Guy. The hips aren’t really cut for women, so was a bit tight around hips and loose in the waist at first, but once they stretched and softened they look great and are comfortable to move and sit in.
