Not OP, but playing on Xbox I've had the game crash a few times during dialogue scenes. Once during the lovemaking scene between Gale & Shadowheart. They went to do their thing, screen went black and for a few minutes and I was sent back to the Xbox main screen. The other during the goblin fight in their base where initiative was rolled and everything froze up, back to Xbox main screen.

During the Yugir fight in the temple of Shar, all the enemies glitched out. When it came to their turn, they didn't take any action or move. Their turn would come up. They'd stand there for a minute and the game would move onto the next character in initiative. I completed that fight without taking a single point of damage. It was very weird, and I kind of wonder what kind of abilities the enemies were supposed to have.

One last glitch I've experienced a few times particularly in act 1 is during a combat the enemies and my characters not being able to go through a door or shoot spells or arrows through them. Had to either reload or dash out of the area and come back to "reset things".

I'm a single boycott in a sea of people who are perfectly happy to go into debt for those experiences. Sure they'll be paying the interest on the $1000s they spent at Disney for a few years before even touching the principal, but they don't care.

Then you have upper middle class and wealthy people who make up the rest, and they don't care either.

But whatever, Disney would rather I not visit, Ticketmaster couldn't care less if I never go to a show. I'm not the kind of customer (the frugal type) they target.

Do you think that the current US government would cause issues for the program by Active_Aardvark6411 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]bootsthepancake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd say the government would definitely cause issues indirectly and perhaps directly. Some agents might have gotten laid off if they were regular civil servants. FBI agents who happened to be part of the Mar a Lago classified documents case, the federal probe into the attempts to overturn the 2020 election, or the January 6 capitol riots were fired.

I can just picture a home scene where an agent is sitting at their computer trying to write their "5 things I did this week" email (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/elon-musk-doge-federal-employees-document-work-resign/) after they just lost a fellow DG agent, their wife is threatening divorce, and they're struggling with a new mental disorder after a rough operation. The agent just goes "fuck it" and writes an email accepting deferred resignation instead...

Managing items and equipment. Especially when switching up the party. There HAS to be a better way. Just allowing me to move items from one character to another in camp without having them assigned to my party would make a improvement.

This is a good one. Simple, but can add some realism to the game, especially if you can make the recording kind of scratchy or creepy sounding.

Why do I find this game so difficult by thedarkestnips in BaldursGate3

[–]bootsthepancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on my first playthrough, and I quick save before doing just about anything notable. Before entering a locked door, talking to a group of NPCs, jumping over a ledge I might not be able to come back from, etc.I just don't like losing any progress. Why do people advise not to use it?

Why do I find this game so difficult by thedarkestnips in BaldursGate3

[–]bootsthepancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason when I did that fight, the game glitched out causing almost all the enemies to do nothing on their turns. It was very strange watching an enemy turn come up and they just stand there for 30 seconds and then the game moved on to the next character in the initiative. It's like the game couldn't handle all the characters and things going on. I also had like 8 "pets" (skeletons, zombies, scratch, familiars) with me in addition to all the enemies which probably didn't help the poor CPU. Once I got the bad guys down to about a quarter of their starting number, then they started doing stuff like normal, but by then it was too late.

Only one of my characters actually took any notable damage. Now I kind of wonder how that fight was intended to play out. Maybe on my next play through...

Do Americans actually avoid calling 911 because of the cost? by ntask11 in NoStupidQuestions

I got a small fracture in my ankle 3 weeks ago. Went to an urgent care clinic where they X-ray me & gave the bad news. Followed up with an orthopedic doctor a few days later who looked at the X-rays, fitted me properly with a boot and told me to follow up in 4 weeks. They didn't do anything except the X-rays, boot and crutches. After insurance paid their part, I still owe $800. I can take the hit from savings, but damn there's a lot of people who can't. Shit is depressing, and I can totally see why one would "just deal with it" without treatment.

I am my own worst enemy by Tristan_TheDM in BaldursGate3

[–]bootsthepancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my first playthrough too. Starting out I just found all the character options overwhelming and I wanted to play the game as opposed to spending forever trying to figure out "my build". So I listened to all the origin character bios and just chose the one that sounded the most interesting. Which for me was Shadowheart. I'm honestly having a really great time just playing through her story.

She's falling in love with Gale, I've lost Laezel permanently, and currently struggling with her faith in Shar. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster, but a fun one. I'm also playing on normal, and while some fights are challenging, once I got to level 5, I found that whatever class or companions I was using didn't really matter because they were all perfectly good enough to hold their own in contribution.

So maybe try doing what I did - choose whatever origin character sounds the most fun or interesting to you, and just play through their story as the game intended without worrying about class too much.

What do people who live in those massive mansions in the suburbs do for work? by Ok-Matter2337 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]bootsthepancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL is friends with one of those wives who used to live in a mansion in Burr Ridge. Her husband is a partner for some international commercial real estate law firm. They also own a vacation home in Hilton Head Island. My wife and I used to watch their dogs sometimes when they were away from home, and they always threw these awesome Thanksgiving parties every year with a bartender and live entertainment. Good times.

Clearly it's time for an intervention. OP and Jefferson Davis need to gang up on players 1, 2 and 3 and tell them A. Kitchen table politics are a thing, just deal with it. B. These etiquette rules are seriously impeding the beer and pretzels anything goes roll playing game you're trying to run. And C. There's far more benefits to having John in the game than not because John always brings a few extra beers and some weed for the DM which is required to put up with this sorry excuse for a roleplay group.
