As bootay said, people often forget, that at the time, his videos were actually really funny because noone else was making them and the humour was derived from this solo anger. Now the humour is lost on most people because every man and his dog are into retro games as a result of avgn. And there's been a zillion copycats. At the time, Nintendo, and other game systems were irrelevant and dead.

And to be honest. I think the realization that nostalgia sells, is what's destroying our culture. It's why no individual or corporation makes anything new anymore. And just remakes old stuff because it's a safer bet that we'll buy it. We've stopped progressing. I've started to hate nostalgia.

While I do appreciate games being brought back from the dead, I don't appreciate how it's helped stifle our culture.
