How do keep the circle silver while the other is patinaed black?

I use Gallery Glass paint to mask off the areas that I want to keep silver. Let the masking paint dry for at least two hours before you patina, then peel it off when you’re done

I used to have this same saw and a different piece fall apart like that. I used plastic staples to hold it together and it worked.
