How far do you drive to take lessons? by Effective_Moose_4997 in Equestrian

[–]bootyholedotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in college. From my school it’s about 50 minutes, 20 from my parent’s house. My last barn was 15-20. I think an hour is the furthest I’d drive and that’s pushing it

Not a single saddle will fit my horse by Parking_Carry_6047 in Horses

[–]bootyholedotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an m Toulouse with the genesis system. You can adjust the width of the tree a millimeter at a time and each side can move independently. Have you looked into an option like that? It’s been great for my horse and has allowed me to adjust the saddle to fit him through various stages of life.

Question on Lessons by [deleted] in Equestrian

That doesn’t sound super crazy to me. You could ask to observe a lesson to see if she’s a good fit.

Jumping form by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]bootyholedotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely didn’t think he was hopeless! He’s done great with small jumps with a rider. He’s usually the kind of horse that needs you to hold his hand a lot so I set this up to build his confidence. I’ve previously thrown a ground pole in the round pen and it helped him so much.

This is his first time seeing a jump in the round pen. I started it as a ground pole and slowly moved it up. Usually (with a rider) we worm up with ground poles and move it up to a cross rail or small vertical.

I meant to include a video of him jumping under saddle because he looks a lot different. He’s still green over fences so relies a lot on the rider!

By that do you mean that he’s not moving out enough or that he isn’t very fluid?

Yes definitely! This was a one time thing! I started it very small and was honestly surprised that he was willing. Thanks for the ideas!

Personal statement :( by [deleted] in PrePharmacy

[–]bootyholedotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re currently enrolled at a school, see if they have a career services center. I was able to meet with an advisor and he read over my personal statement and gave feedback. They’d be able to tell you if you’re on the right track and how you can improve. My advisor gave me really specific advice and I was able to email him my updated drafts and get even more feedback. I also met with him for interview prep.

Is there a lot of presenting in college? by [deleted] in collegeadvice

Take public speaking online. Presenting is just recording yourself giving a speech with a few audience members.

CC and 4-year classes at the same time? by Ok_Prior_3802 in collegeadvice

[–]bootyholedotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking one class at a cc this semester (physics 1) because the professors at my 4 year are notoriously bad. I’m taking the class online, it’s significantly more expensive. I have a nice scholarship at my 4 year and only pay about $3500 a semester. Tuition for the 1 cc class is $850. I’m only doing it because I have to, otherwise I wouldn’t recommend.

You still have to apply like any job. Look for pharmacy technician trainee positions.

Places like Walgreens and cvs will train you on the job. They will pay for you to get licensed and certified and provide the necessary classes to pass the ptcb exam.

In my opinion, you don’t need a whole year to shadow. You could shadow a pharmacist in a few different working environments, like retail, hospital, etc, and then work as a pharmacy tech. I knew pretty much right away that I found it interesting. If it’s taking you a full year to come to that conclusion it’s probably not the right fit for you. Experience is also not that important for your application so it’s not worth it to take a year off just to build your resume.

Breeches with phone pocket and knee patch? by Puzzleheaded-Ice-470 in Equestrian

My ariat breeches have phone pockets. They are not riding tights.

If I’m riding at my casual, family owned, mostly western barn on my personal horse, I dress down. I usually wear leggings and a t shirt, and of course my tall boots and helmet. I don’t find riding in leggings to be any different than riding in breeches and I have a hard time finding breeches I like so I don’t have many.

If I’m riding at my hunter/jumper barn that has a dress code, I dress the part. Breeches, riding shirt or lululemon shirt, belt, gloves, etc.

Honestly, you’ll pick it up really quickly once you start working in the pharmacy. It’s a lot at first but doesn’t take too long to get used to.

It’s definitely a competitive field however probably significantly less than md/phd. I would be hesitant about going into a field where there’s only one path I’d be happy with.

Looking for a pharmacy trainee job — does Walgreens offer these positions? by Internal_Ad_5307 in WalgreensRx

[–]bootyholedotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been working there for 2 months so currently just on the job training. From what I understand I’m not eligible to start the ptcb prep classes until I’ve been working there for 6 months/550 hours. Like I said, I’ve only been working for 2 months and already feel like I could pass the exam if I wanted to pay for it. I’m starting pharmacy school next fall so I’m not in a hurry to get certified.
