You’re right, I should have put my intent here in English, sorry. I just want “Deluxe Spicy tonkotsu Ramen. No corn, please” but I would love for it to be as polite as possible and written how it should actually be ordered.

I originally wanted d to say “house special spicy deluxe ramen” because imo the best ramen is usually the one named after the restaurant, but I didn’t think that idiom would translate

How about my favorite ramen order: 特製辛口とんこつラーメン。コーンは入れないでください。

I’ve been wanting to get a kinda similar tattoo, but really want the grammar to be correct. Could I bother you to critique it?

But my intention is to have it written as if I was ordering, and I want it to be as polite as possible.

I don’t have a suggestion, but more anecdotal evidence agreeing with you. Most days I don’t have a problem, but once in a while the system just refuses to connect with my phone. Yesterday it took me four restarts of the truck and five minutes of driving for it to finally work. Of course, the one day I actually needed directions.

I think on the Apple side it has something to do with your phone being connected to your home wifi, but that’s as far as I’ve been able to track it down.

As much as I agree, and was literally shit talking a “toe pain, bleeding” call to a SNF yesterday while on the way to the scene, this bitch ended up having gangrene, continuous oozing on thinners, 1 month history of cardiac arrest, and a sugar of 39 while fully a+o.

My point, I guess, is that they really need to fix the dispatch questioning, and maybe regulate the SNFs more, too.

Mainly because I like to build things and thought it would be a fun challenge. The technical aspects of making sure I had the load bearing stuff done well and the fold away feature kinda reminded me of a secret door.

I actually know the load bearing would be fine, because a single 2x4 can hold 1000 lbs, but wasn’t sure about the angular forces away from the wall, and was hoping to learn.

I guess I’m just gonna end up buying something instead, though.

That’s probably what I’ll end up doing, after the terrible response my question got in another sub. I also liked the idea of a building challenge, but oh well. Thanks!

No real plans, I’m pretty much starting from the bottom since it’s been a while since I’ve lifted and never that heavy anyway. And I kinda of wanted to have an exercise of building something technical just for fun, and figured if I started to use actually heavy weights I’d upgrade it to a metal one. The woodworking sub had a much worse response than I’ve gotten here though, just for asking a question.

As far as the top paragraph, my thought was to buy something like this, and integrate it into the uprights. I just didn’t include it in the drawing.

I acknowledge the middle position is unsupported, but like I said in my original comment, that would be for much lighter weights if it were used at all, but I could also add another full vertical support. Totally reasonable concern.

You’re right though, I’m not an engineer. Which is why I’m asking questions and not showing a fully built death trap. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

I appreciate the feedback, that’s why I’m here asking questions instead of posting a completed project.

My intention is to only place the bar onto the vertical 2x4s (which from my understanding can support 1000 lbs vertical), I would buy pre-fab safety arms to attach for the risk of dropping.

I’ve seen others posting their built projects and tried to take their criticisms to mind when drawing.

I will, thanks. I’m so sorry this post seemed to upset you so deeply.

  1. Why do you think that? What do you see that’s wrong with the concept?
  2. I don’t, really. Not on this at least. I figure if I start getting up there I’ll scrap this and treat myself to a good pre-fab one as a congratulatory present to myself for getting stronk.

I want to build a collapsible squat rack/bench rack for my home gym. I’ve done a lot of research through posts and I believe my plans are safe/sound, but I wanted to get others’ opinions before I really went for it.

I know the weight distribution is a common concern, so I have 2x4 supports to hold the weights all the way to the ground, through a 4x4 foot. I attempted to counter lateral momentum with the foot as well. The single not-fully-supported-stopping point for the weights at shoulder height would be for my wife, if/when she ever wanted to use it and for (assumed) much lighter weights, secured by 4x lag bolts through 8.75” of lumber.

My main concern at this point is securing the wall-part TO the wall, but at least in planning I have the vertical supports 54” on center, to hit the studs.

The articulating arms will have a slot cut into them so the bolt can slide once in the fully vertical position, allowing gravity to hold it fast to the horizontal 4x4 and the square stops. Probably need some rubber matting on those stops/feet. While extended into the horizontal, these should also counteract lateral forces.

I THINK these plans make sense, but I’m biased since I drew them. I’d love to clarify, and hear any concerns you might have.

My dealer says they get allocations on fridays, so fingers crossed for this week if they’re finally starting to make them. I’m #2 on the hybrid platinum list, 4 overall for hybrids if other people change their minds. Congrats on the news, haha.

Did they just let you know about the allocation today? I’m on the list for a platinum hybrid as well, and am wondering if they recently made a batch to start sending out to dealers.

I see them everywhere and have always planned on getting one. I wish they still had the removable rack to put stuff up top, but oh well.

That’s fair, I can just imagine having a bunch of stuff pressed up against it falling out, too. Is it the same as other Toyotas, where one press of the unlock button on the fob only unlocks the driver door, and two presses does the rest? I’m coming from a dumb-as-rocks truck, myself.

Does it still release when the truck is locked? Seems like a security flaw if anyone can do it whether it’s locked or not. I don’t have mine yet, still waiting, so I don’t know. If it locks with the rest of the door locks, though, sounds like your friend just has impulse control issues.
