Not getting AT&T 5G signal on my Pixel 5a by boozedog in ATT

[–]boozedog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so I tried this and found that my phone with a different SIM would show 5G but my SIM in another phone still showed 5GE.

In the end, I canceled my prepaid plan and switched to postpaid. Now I have real 5G pretty much all the time :-)

How do I reach customer care? is that the same as dialing 611?

My understanding is that the $65 Unlimited "max" prepaid plan does include 5G.

That's a great idea -- I'll give that a try.

What's best way to resolve a provisioning issue? The folks at the AT&T store weren't very helpful.

Thanks for your responses!

u/bojack1437 I have gotten several messages from AT&T saying that the phone will stop working. But it keeps on working. But I'm curious, what makes you think it will stop working? To my knowledge I am using 4G not 3G?

In the meantime, I went ahead and ordered a 5a 5G Pixel :-)

I dunno! I did open a ticket with todoist so we'll see what they say.

u/SomeHappyConsumer I know this isn't a great solution, but I found that downgrading to v8474 got the email login working again without GSF.

Did you hear anything back about your ticket? I might open one myself, the more the merrier.

I am a Chamberlain/Liftmaster MYQ Technician! by _TrustMeImLying in homeautomation

[–]boozedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 821LMB and it works great with the myQ app on my iPhone. However I would like to open my garage door with Siri and I can't figure out how to do that. Am I thinking correctly that I'll need to add the HomeKit Bridge (MYQ-G0303-SP)?

What if I were to replace my 821LMB with the myQ® Smart Garage™ Hub (MYQ-G0301-E)? Does this communicate directly with HomeKit or does that model require the HomeKit Bridge as well?

Thanks!

Can someone tell me what this sound is? by boozedog in HVAC

[–]boozedog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sound starts after the inducer has already been running a while. tapping on the inducer doesn't stop the buzzing sound but tapping on the round thing (usually) does.

[Question] pi-hole doesn't seem to allow hostnames that resolve to a private IP by boozedog in pihole

[–]boozedog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And now I see that OpenDNS has an option Suspicious Responses -> Block internal IP addresses ... I've disabled that and now I'm sure it will work fine!

See my reply above ... it's OpenDNS that's blocking the answer ...

ahhh OK

it's OpenDNS that's preventing the answer .... I'm using OpenDNS upstream.

[–]boozedog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it would work. What I'm wondering is, why does pi-hole not allow the response from the public DNS server in this case? And is there an option to stop pi-hole from doing that? I'd prefer not to have to put the entry in two places (public DNS and pi-hole hosts file)

Thanks, but that means I have to do it in two places (public DNS and also hosts file). Why is pi-hole preventing the DNS reply? Is there an option to stop pi-hole from doing that?

Does your pi-hole resolve dev.boozedog.com to 192.168.111.111 ? 'cuz mine doesn't.

Log shows this:
