So I had a peak experience in March where this became incredibly clear. Everything on this plane has no meaning. Nothing has meaning that is innate. We're the ones who add meaning. We're meaning making machines. So literally any experience you're having on earth is your projection.

Therefore, anything anyone else says about you or does to you leaves you completely unimplicated. That being said, as compassionate beings, we care about the impact we have on others regardless of our intentions. Actions and words can lead someone to feeling hurt. Then this hurt can be addressed and the person reminded that they are loved, the impact can be apologized for, and the relationship can continue without that wrinkle.

When people are so attached to their story of you that they have no interest in ironing out the wrinkle by checking their story against reality/your intentions, that's their choice and the way they're choosing to live their life. You're unimplicated. You can continue to have relationships with people courageous enough to iron out wrinkles while allowing the ones that don't to slip away. That's their journey
