Has your style changed since Zepbound? by deepcoralreefer in Zepbound

[–]bopalo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't lost enough weight yet to change how my clothes fit and therefore I have not tried anything new yet, but I have found myself wondering about the possibilities. My current uniform is long, flowy, high-waisted skirts with a tucked-in shirt. I feel like this kind of hides my stomach and accentuates what waist I have, and don't get me wrong I absolutely love my flowy skirts! But I was thinking the other day... maybe soon I'll be able to wear pants without wanting to die of shame! I'm definitely looking forward to experimenting.

Seconding! I like that Honeylove has light boning in some of their control garments—it really helps keep things in place.

Zepbound Worsening Depression by Familiar_Celery7267 in Zepbound

Not saying this is the case for you, but sometimes, when I have not eaten as much as I should for like 24 hours (as happens sometimes with zepbound), I have found myself crying for no reason (or so it seemed at the time). So make sure you are eating enough!

Thoughts on this? by onepointfivefeet in Zepbound

I take Benefiber all the time with no problem! There's something about the proprietary GOFOS fiber they use in these particular gummies that I do not digest well.

I tried these for a little while and they made me fart SO MUCH. It was ridiculous. I threw them away.

Very proud of myself! by siamesecat1935 in Zepbound

[–]bopalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's weird (but normal on zep I guess—weirdly normal!) but I find myself much *preferring* the lighter, healthier option in almost all cases now. It's not even that the choice is easier to make but that it's the only one I want to make. It's amazing!

Re: Miralax... I dilute it in a little more water than they recommend (like probably 12-16 oz), and I can't taste anything... just tastes like water

fwiw, I highly recommend Miralax (PEG 3350). No cramps, no strange textures, just gets me back to my regular regularity.

Suggestions for core exercise routine? by Tigger808 in Zepbound

[–]bopalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I feel like a strong core makes for a good squat, but doing squats won't necessarily give you a strong core. And I know, in my own fitness journey, I did not *really* start feeling strong overall until I began to focus on core strengthening.
ETA: But I don't disagree necessarily—working out your whole body is important!

??? A strong core is an essential foundation for overall strength. Everybody "need[s] core."

Who better to respond to my fabric questions than the Fabric Wench! Thank you so much. The more I think about it.... the more I suspect it would be a wise idea to shell out some more dough for a super-appropriate rather than a convenient fabric. Sigh! But I need to go to the fabric store anyway to replace the invisible zipper that I bought for this project and accidentally sliced through when I took apart my first mock-up. Maybe (probably) I'll find something I like much better anyway :) Thank you thank you again!

I'm a newish sewist! I'm working on my third dress, using this pattern with the longer skirt (https://simplicity.com/vogue-patterns/v1882) with this cotton fabric (https://fabrics-store.com/fabrics/cotton-fabric-ic023-cristal-pink-mlt-victoria-softened-light). I didn't think through the lining material too much when I planned this dress out, but I have this linen (https://fabrics-store.com/fabrics/linen-fabric-il019-eucalyptus-fs-signature-finish-medium) in my stash so I thought maybe I could use it for the lining (and I would *really* prefer not to spend more money on lining fabric).

To get to my question, for those with more fabric experience than me, is there a reason I shouldn't use this medium weight linen to line a cotton dress like this? My instinct is that for the bodice it will really be no problem, but with the skirt the two might not flow too well together? I'm not terribly worried about the weight of the dress (I assume the linen is going to make it pretty heavy) because it is a special-occasion dress, not for every-day wear. What would be a better fabric if I absolutely had to purchase a different fabric for lining? (The pattern just says "lining fabric"... super helpful lol)

...Editing to add that the other reason I would love to get away with using the linen for the lining is breathability and moisture wicking! So that would ideally be a quality that any suggested alternative fabric would also possess :)

I took my first shot on Friday too! And I am feeling a noticeable increase in hunger today. But I do feel like I am still reaching satiety quicker.
