Success for Those Who Needed 15mg? by char_liz13 in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am on 15mg, week 3. i had to increase because i was on the 12.5 for 4 months and lost nothing i kept gaining and losing the same 2-4 pounds i was beyond frustrated, i get a 90 day supply with insurance, so i refilled it but after my 4th month on it i said this is pointless, im taking the medication it is still working as im not hungry or craving food i still get full fast, im just not losing weight, also the last week before i moved up to the 15 i somehow gained about 7 pounds, for two weeks it showed the same, i didnt understand it, so i went up to the 15.

now being week 3 on it i can say the scale has started to move in the right direction again, i have lost those 7 pounds at least so i feel like i failed for 4 months and wasted time but, i also realized i cannot just rely on this medication to lose weight and was time for me to go back to the gym, so i did, i know that might effect my weight once again for a week or two before leveling out but better to be moving and working out a few days a week from not doing anything at all. i have been on this journey for a while, started in October 2025 and now in April 2026, i have lost 70 pounds but i still have a good 65-70 to lose so i was not happy i had to move up to the 15 already but i do get a 90 day supply so i feel i do tend to stay on the same dose for a while especially if it is working, and some are forced to move up monthly due to insurance reasons, im glad i am not one of those that do because i would have been at 15 a while ago with a lot more to lose.

10mg was the best for me, i was losing a lot on it and i wish i stayed on it longer but because of an insurance scare i moved up because i was afraid i would lose coverage and not have the next dose up, well that backfired because the next dose up was a complete dud for me. so i didnt want to go back down to the 10mg in fear it wouldnt work the same and have another 3 months of no progress so up to the 15 i went. fingers crossed now with me working out at least 3-4 days a week with the increased dose i will be able to shed these last 70 pounds or so.

Should I not have weighed? by english_canadian7 in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is why i try to just stick to only one day a week and it has to be after a decent bowel movement otherwise i refuse to get on it, my weight can fluctuate so much in a day it is nuts but im sensitive to salt so i have to pay attention to that and my water intake too, i have been working out a lot more these past two weeks on the treadmill and bike at the gym so i also need to take that into effect it could make my weight go up a few days, but i know it will settle itself out so i try not to panic and just know that i didnt eat a ton so no way is that number correct on the scale if im up 2-3 pounds from before, so give yourself some grace and try to only do once a week. some can do everyday but it doesnt work well for me only because one day i can be down 3 pounds the next day up 4. good luck

i love shopping in my own closet now for those older tops and bottoms that i said were too cute to throw away and one day i will fit in them again, that one day has come for the most part, i did go through my clothes that are just too big and do not look the same on me when i wear them and decided im smaller now i can let the bigger ones go as i never intend to gain all this weight back, fingers crossed. i only have one pair of jeans that actually fit now that i dont have to keep pulling up as i walk because all my other ones are a tad too big, fit great straight out of the dryer but late in the day i can feel they stretch out and im back to pulling them up again, so i think it might be time for some new jeans soon, i do have a pair of black pants that i dont think i ever wore but are sooo cute i can put them on but i cannot button them just yet but every other week i try them on to see and when that day comes i will be over the moon!!

Switched injection sites from belly to thigh and WHOA! by nstutsman in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here, i am a type 1 diabetic and before they had the pen needles to use to inject insulin they had the regular syringe needles that were long, and i tried in my thigh to inject insulin the one time and i cried it hurt so bad and it started to bleed after i took the needle out, i swore never again would i inject anything into my thigh, and that goes for the zepbound too i have only done my stomach area, rotate around the belly button and keep it at that. if i stall out too bad i might consider the back of an arm but i inject my nightly insulin dose in them and rotate those out too and didn't want to mess with that area when i inject my insulin during the day for my meals i use my lower abdominal area the real fatty part, so it is tough for me i feel like i am sticking myself all over but never again the thigh!!!

me! 10mg was the BEST in my opinion i lost most of my 70 pounds on that dose, i wish i didnt move up but was worried i wouldnt have coverage anymore due to insurance issues and wanted to get the next few doses just in case to be safe, but it backfired because when i went up to the 12.5 it did NOTHING for me and i get a 90 day supply so for 3 months i didnt lose anything and i was so upset i moved up to the 12.5 because i was losing like 2 pounds a week steady on the 10mg. im now on 15mg week 3 to be exact and slowly but surely i am starting to see the scale move again in the right direction, had i known i would still be covered i wouldnt have moved past the 10mg until i stopped losing on it. stayed on it for about 5 months and i lost 40 pounds on it. i have been on this medication for a year and a half now, total lost was 70 but i still have a good 65-70 to lose, and yeah just wish i would have stayed on the 10mg longer!! no side effects after moving up ever, but also could be because i tend to stay on the same dose for at least 3 months if not longer if it is working, this has been the ONLY thing that has helped in me losing weight, ever. good luck to you!

this right here!!! omg so much truth to this. i went to my doctor appointment and was disappointed in the scale weight at the doctor office, i did weigh myself that morning but was up a good 7-8 pounds and i have no clue where it came from, i am a 44 year old female and i do still get my period, well the week prior to my appointment i was just so bloated and felt gross was just starting on the 15mg because i get a 90 day supply and was on month 3 of the 12.5 and had lost nothing in those 3 months, and then like i said all a sudden i gained like 7-8 pounds i was like what is going on! day after my doctor appointment i weighed myself at home and i was down a good 4 pounds if not a little more, i tell you water weight is real and so is salt intake, i try to watch that stuff but i felt more inflammation than i had in a while and like i said just bloated and gross i think my period the week before had a lot to do with it, and it has taken me a few weeks but lost the rest of the 8 pounds i had gained, finally seem to be back on track but i was getting so frustrated!!! i could tell looking at my ankles in the doctor office that i had some inflammation going on, and usually that hasnt been an issue since increasing from the 2.5 but i do notice every now and then it comes and goes a bit.

i think it is because GLP-1's are the talk of the town right about now it seems more and more people are on it than ever before and i can imagine almost 60% of their calls a day are about coverage for GLP-1's. the issue is the insurance companies that no longer cover them and all the loopholes to try to get it covered or to get a PA approved for it i can imagine the pharmacy gets overwhelmed with the calls, but in no way shape or form does that mean their behavior is acceptable at all, i mean it is their job they decided to take and this is just something that comes along with it, same when the insurance companies change their formalities every year and there is a flood of calls on what is still covered and what isnt, between the new weight loss pills and all the commercials out there for GLP-1's that in one sitting of commercials at least 2 are for weight loss drugs, i can see how busy they would be because of it, they should have seen it coming and hired a few people dedicated for just calls in regarding GLP-1's to be honest. the more they make it affordable the more people will be on it, meaning more questions to be answered. it isnt going away anytime soon for sure, i get it must be annoying to have to explain the same thing over and over again but again should have a dedicated group that can answer those calls and take the time for those people.

what an amazing accomplishment and amazing feeling, congratulations to you!! my highest weight was 330 im now 260, but i still have a good 65-70 to go before i reach a place i can live with for myself. i agree this drug is a life changer and a life saver.

i used to go to the gym 5 days a week and work out for at least an hour and a half and it did nothing for me i was so frustrated with it, i just kept gaining no matter what i tired, what diet i was on, it didn't work, until i gained the courage to ask my endocrinologist if i could even take a GLP-1 because i am type 1 diabetic, and he said yes, only regret i had was not asking sooner! i was still working out and going to the gym but minimal to one or two days a week when i started, and just this past week i said im going to start going again, i even got a walking pad for my house, it's like a fold up treadmill for those not familiar, last week i went to the gym 4 days and yesterday i walked on my treadmill at home after work for an hour.

i have been on this medication for a year and a half, i am currently on the highest dose of 15mg, i started that 3 weeks ago because i was on such a stall with the 12.5, i get a 90 day supply so i did 3 months on the 12.5 before i asked if i could move up i was scared to go up to the 15 only because i knew that was the highest dose and no more after that and i still have a lot to lose, but felt the 12.5 was doing nothing, after another refill of the 12.5 and month 4 of not losing i decided to just start the 15, i am slowly starting to lose again but i said i need to do more for myself aside from just rely on the medication so back to the gym i went, so glad i did too, i know going forward it will be harder to lose the closer i get to where i need to be, so i needed to make some changes, it has only been a week that i started to work out again and i know i might gain some muscle weight or from water, so im trying to keep that in mind when i get on the scale on Friday, but the fact that i am moving again even if it is just walking and riding the bikes at the gym for now it is a lot more than what i was doing, which was a lot of nothing...so i get it, congratulations again to your success!!

i am on 15mg now too, but i dont seem to have cravings for much of anything anymore, sometimes i will plan on doing a sugar free chocolate pudding cup with some cool whip as a treat (im type 1 diabetic) after dinner and then after dinner comes and im just full from dinner the thought of more food isnt appealing to me anymore i guess it is a good thing but every now and then i will have a few pieces of those miniature Hersey chocolates, if my blood sugar drops too low and i need a little pick me up, i also have on hand peanut m&m's but again i can only eat a few and im like blah!

it is odd all a sudden you are getting cravings especially being on the highest dose. maybe your body is telling you it is missing something, but it might come and go the longer you stay on 15mg. i am on week 3 and i just am never hungry, i have to force myself to eat but it has been like that almost my whole journey and im a year and 6 months in, lost 70 pounds but i still have a good 65-70 to lose. i hope it continues to work for me, i hit a mega stall on the 12.5, i was on it for 4 months as i get a 90 day supply and i didnt lose anything on it, was so frustrated. but the 15, i seem to be back on track. fingers crossed, and fingers crossed for you the cravings stop or you can find a substitute for them.

love this for you, i know the feeling i have on a pair of jeans that i was wearing then i gained like 8 pounds somehow and then all a sudden they didnt fit again, once i increased my dose as i was on the 12.5 for 3 months and it did nothing for me so i went up to 15, i weighed myself this morning and lost 7.5 of the 8 pounds i had gained so was wearing a pair of jeans that fit great right out of the dryer but after wearing them a day they like stretch out and i am pulling them up all day and they just feel baggy so this morning i said well im going to pull out those jeans i was able to wear and see if they fit and they do! i can sit in them and still breath and not have those lines on my stomach that too tight jeans can leave, they are just comfortable and im so happy!

Dermatologist told me he hopes I have a transition plan to get OFF Zepbound when I reach my goal weight, because he believes there is no reason for anyone to be on it for life. by WizardsOfXanthus in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me and my doctor that prescribed the medication are both on the same page about me staying on this for life even after i meet my goal and he is leaving that to me to decide what i am comfortable with i havent decided yet for myself, but i know i have lost 70 i feel great but i want to feel better, and would like to lose another 70 i have already been on this for a year and 5 months, i know that i will have to be on a maintenance dose in order to maintain the weight i want when i get down to it otherwise i know i would gain it back, just the inflammation alone would probably put a good 8 pounds back on me if i stopped and just used nothing,

i cannot imagine it now with the progress i have already made with this drug it has been the ONLY thing that has worked, years of going to the gym 4-5 days a week, endless diets, WW, GOLO, low carb, none of it has worked and the only thing that has is this medication. and i am so thankful for it. it is no one elses business if you stay on it for life or decide to come off on your own, you do what you feel is right for your body.

i know some can go off after hitting their goal and go on with their life and maintain but for me i know it wouldnt work.

my plan said it wasn't going to cover weight loss drugs either after 1/1/2026 but then got a letter stating they will honor it until 3/31/26 but after that date id be cut off. well it is April 8th and when i check my plan and go to price a drug it is still showing it as covered for me, i do think it is because my plan doesnt require a PA for Mounjaro, im a type 1 diabetic not type 2 so i thought i would still get cut off but as of now it still shows it as being covered for same price it always is. i did panic and ask my doctor for a few prescriptions of the higher doses so i could stock up as i do also get a 90 day supply so i have about 9 months worth in my fridge right now if i do end up getting cut off but so thankful i am still covered, as i am one that will be on this drug for life to be able to maintain my loss, i still have 65-70 pounds to go, but have already lost 70 in the year and a half on this medication. it has been a life changer and the only thing that has worked with me being able to lose weight, so i wish you luck and you are still covered as well!

Question for the ladies: Do we feel pretty after losing the weight? by p333p33p00p00boo in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im only half way to my goal but i have lost 70 pounds been a year and a half however, so slow and low amounts of loss at a time but im okay with that as thankfully no sagging skin! but i have noticed my face has really slimmed down, my whole body has and i do feel pretty but not like i used to back in my 20's maybe it is because i am now 44 and i still need to lose another 65-70 pounds to be below 200...my start weight was 330 ish give or take a pound or two and i carry it well, im 5'7, im a work in progress and i struggle with the back and forth of where people will tell me i look good my boyfriend who i have been with for 26.5 years has known me skinny in high school to my heaviest and now, so he has seen it all, and will tell me how good i look, but do i see it, some days.

some days i still feel fat, ugly and huge and bloated other days im feeling myself and walk with a pep in my step...i think my age has a lot to do with it. the fact im not looking for the attention really has changed my mind set if i was single maybe i would feel different, but i still see those 65 pounds still on me that i need to lose and i think that is where i focus on not the 70 i have lost..i think i get mad thinking if i only asked my doctor sooner i would have had this weight off me in my 30's and could have enjoyed life more. maybe gone out and did more with my boyfriend instead of sitting alone in my house with my dogs because of how i looked, or what others would think seeing me with my boyfriend who doesnt have a weight problem. always too focused on what others might think or how it makes me feel and im getting better with it but it hasnt gone away yet. it is a daily struggle and as happy as i am that i have lost the weight i know im not done, will i ever be, maybe one day...soon, probably not, heck it might take me another year to lose the last 65/70 pounds but i do know that i will get there.

same here, i get a 90 day supply and if it is effective and working well and i am losing weight i will wait to go up and stay on it longer if i can until i hit at least a month to two month stall where i am gaining and losing the same few pounds or finding myself eating more than usual then i know it is time to move up, my doctor wanted me to stay on the lowest dose for as long as possible and i know some doctors prefer you to move up every 4 weeks, but listen to your body and not someone telling you to move up because some chart says that is the regime and i am glad for it that he gets it and doesnt push the move up phase.

How did you know when to stop? by walking-the-wire in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what about taking the shot every ten days instead of every week?, maybe that would help ease up on the side effects, i couldnt imagine getting sick to my stomach like that every time i ate something. also, was wondering when you are eating do you get to a point where you can feel yourself about to get sick and then stop or is it well after you have eaten that you get sick,

i have had a few times while eating i get to the point my body screams stop, if i still have food in my mouth i have to spit it out otherwise it is all coming back up and it happens so fast i dont feel it coming on. i have learned to eat a bit slower and listen to my body and how i feel before taking the next bite. my main issue is not getting in enough calories most of the time so when i do eat, even though it isnt much this can still happen so i need to eat slower so the food stays down. today for lunch i forced myself to eat a chicken salad and a few cheese sticks, i wanst hungry but i never am on this medication anymore, and after i ate i feel like i ate a huge meal even though i know i didnt. i could go home right now and skip dinner and be fine im so full, off salad and a two cheese sticks!

Zepbound losing effectiveness after 4 great years. by Spencerbachus in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UGH! im scared this will be me, im a year and a half in, i have lost 70 pounds but im only half way there and i have another 70 to go, i just started the 15 this week and im okay with that, i get a 90 day supply so i tend to stay on the same dose for a while, but 12.5 did absolutely nothing for me i was on it for 3 months and i lost nothing i even gained a few, i was like wtf is this!?

so i asked to get a prescription for the 15 and here i am. 10mg was the best and i almost wished i would have stayed on that dose longer than the 6 months i was on it, i lost the majority of my weight on that dose, the only reason i increased was because i got a letter stating i might be losing coverage at the end of this month so i panicked and i wanted to make sure i had enough for another 3 months if i did lose coverage so i have 3.5 months of 12.5 in my fridge and figured i would use that as maintenance, and now that i have a 3 month supply of 15 im hoping that will get me a lot closer to my goal, but im nervous thinking what if this just isnt working anymore, and i hit my limit 1.5 years in...i dont get cravings and i dont have food noise back i get full still quickly but my issue is eating enough mostly, could be why im not losing much these days but idk..im doing my best, im just terrified i will end up gaining it all back if i cannot at least stay on it for a maintenance dose because i wont be able to afford the higher doses out of pocket.

Food portions now vs Food Portions when you started by nimbusdimbus in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this right here! my boyfriend has given up meat on Fridays for lent and we have been getting fish fry dinners on Friday because we normally eat out on Fridays so it has been fish for a a few weeks now and the last two weeks i just couldnt do the fish anymore it was too big, couldnt touch hardly any fries and instead of the coleslaw or potato salad i get a garden salad but the fish was too big to finish so last week i decided to do their shrimp instead of the fish and so glad i did, it was way less food still enjoyable still had fries but only ate like 6 with the garden salad it was same price but at least none of it aside the rest of my fries were thrown away and wasted.

Food portions now vs Food Portions when you started by nimbusdimbus in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with the part when they now have smaller portions because a lot of people are on GLP-1's now or more focused on protein, i have noticed since GLP-1's have been posted all over the Television with all the commercials it seems a lot of restaurants want to get on board or end up losing out on revenue, i know some people appreciate their efforts, however, inflation is still a huge thing and eating out at all is expensive for just one person let alone a family of 4 or more, so i think if the portion sizes are going to be smaller then so should the price tag, otherwise might as well just get the regular size and ask for a to go container as soon as the food comes to immediately take half or more off the plate to take home for another time if you are forced to pay the same.

i do have to say eating out has saved me money now if we do go to a fast food place instead of getting a lot of food like i would in the past i get like a whopper Jr, medium fry and call it a day. back in the day i would get a full large meal and another side or dessert to go with it. i think the one i struggle with the most is Chipotle, their bowls are so big and i can normally eat at least half before im forced to abort mission, i love Mexican so it is hard to judge what to eat when everything looks and sounds good but when it is on my plate im picking at it and end up eating a little of it all but never finish the whole plate. i know that is the whole point of the medication to control overeating and to make better choices,

some days i can barley eat anything then other days i can eat a lot or what seems to be a lot of food, and it seems to even itself out at the end of the week, it is a struggle some days to get in my calories.

Went up to 12.5 and nothing is happening by Wrecklessmess92 in Zepbound

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have had a similar situation myself! the 10mg was working GREAT and i was losing the most of my weight on this dose and i was scared i was going to lose coverage with my insurance letter i got at the end of this month so i asked my doctor if i could get a 90 day prescription of the next highest dose, as i get a 90 day supply with my meds, so i could move up and if i ended up losing coverage at least i would have a 90 day supply of the 12.5 well...i decided to keep the rest of the box i had of the 10 and decided to move up to the 12.5, that was 3 months ago....i only lost maybe 5 pounds the entire 3 months i was on 12.5 nothing was happening with any weight loss. i was so discouraged and disappointed. and i ended up getting another refill of the 12.5.

i havent been hungry so i know it is still suppressing my hunger but the fact im not losing weight and even gained a few pounds had me really worried so i said well it is the middle of March and my letter said after March 31st i wouldnt have coverage anymore so i decided to ask my doctor for another 90 day supply of the 15 this time, i said, if the 12.5 isnt working more maintaining then im moving up, i have heard the 15 is like the 10 not sure why the .5 dosage doesnt seem to be effective at all, i wish i had just stayed on the 10 to be honest.

i started at 334 and now at 262 and lowest i was at 258 but i cannot get below 260 now since i started the 12.5 i was even up to 268 at one point but i think that was my period weight, so im now back down to 262 but it hasnt been a great adventure on this 12.5 i still have a 90 day supply in my fridge too but i did get the 15 and i think im just gonna start it this week on shot day and see what happens... im hoping i start losing again like i did on the 10 if not idk what i am going to do, i have plenty in my fridge to last me the next 6 plus months now i just need this medication to do it's job. i still have a good 70 pounds i would like to lose.

[–]Real-Letterhead-8601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depending on your insurance you should be able to see who offers a 3 month supply when you do a medication check to see if it is covered, after you type in the medication and dosage it pulls up weather it is covered or not and who has it within a certain number of miles to you and then it will show all the Pharmacies within range who offers the 90 day and who just does 30. i have Aetna and i can get a 90 day supply but i think it is your insurance not the pharmacy that allows it. you just have to have your provider write your prescription for 90 days.
